Air:

Two airports: IAH Bush has all the majors and is the international hub. It is probably 30 mins to the stadium
HOU Hobby is the Southwest Hub and about 20 mins from the stadium

The area around the stadium is okay...but nothing special...but motels are plentiful and cheaper than the Galleria Area nearby. The Galleria has the shopping and is trendy. Reliant Stadium is located SW of Downtown.

Airport options: DFW 4 hrs, SAT 2.5 hrs, AUS 2 hrs I recommend if you can afford the time to take a few extra days and see the Alamo, eat some BBQ, Galveston, 6th Street, etc...

If we get this game...expect a 4-5 hours long tailgate.

Visit the Enron building...

DFW 3.5 hrs if you're driving with me :)

Downtown Houston to Reliant is about 17-18 minutes by cab (around $25.00)

As Mark said, there a lot of hotels around the stadium as it is also a large medical/hospital area. Galleria is very nice if traveling with the Mrs.

Wish I could come. But sat morning is wedding of a current client. Then SU women's ball team in AZ for the weekend. They arrive also on Saturday and play ASU on Monday. So if anyone wants to extend their trip and warm weather come over to Phoenix for the weekend after the football game and cheer on the women!!!!!

TexanMark, IAH is probably 45-60 minutes depending on what time people are going. They will most likely take 610 through Galleria, which will be stop and go for a few miles no matter what them they go through it. Either way you come up, get on 610, take Kirby Exit. Stadium is right off the highway.

I figured post Christmas..traffic would be light...but I'll defer to you.

Mark - any cheap/quick way to get from Huntsville, TX to Reliant Stadium? Long story short, I'll actually be in the area that week and may be able to make the game.

I checked Greyhound and round-trip tickets were $50. Renting a car is about $50 plus gas/parking - just curious if there were any alternative methods that might be cheaper...

Friday rush hour in Houston is bad like Dallas.......

If you're flying in Friday to IAH and planning on going right to the game give yourself 1.5 hrs. to be safe. Hobby is easier.

If you are an inmate at Huntsville and you can make the game let me know and I will stop and pick you up. My story will be that you carjacked me and demanded that I drive you to the Texas Bowl at gunpoint so you're on your own once we get to the stadium.

I have no idea how far Huntsville is to Houston but $50 round trip for anything is very reasonable. I live 10 minutes from the airport in Albany and it's like $30 for a cab ride. I'm sure there are many on here that wish they could get to Houston for $50 round trip.

Maybe someone coming from Dallas can pick you up..send me your times/dates you can be away from Huntsville. I know several coming from Dallas. We are staying at the LaQuinta near the stadium.

Huntsville is about an 2 hours from Reliant. Good thing is you'll be going against traffic until you hit 610 going South.

You need to act fast...get your air travel/motel figured out...game tickets are your last worry. For cost too many variables...use kayak.com and seach multiple cities and multiple days. Try BUF, ROC, SYR, Binghamton and even Ithaca

If you wait on bubbas to get back with you all the decent airfares will be gone.

Why so flights out of Syracuse suck? So damn expensive
Play around with the dates...try expedia or orbitz for a fly/stay/drive package

Try driving to Philly...and flying out there...only pays off if you are flying a few folks

Is that the LQ on Buffalo speedway?

Make sure to avoid the Slauson Cutoff.

Mark,

Are you going to try and lock in a group rate or is it every man for himself? I have at least four and may need a dozen or so.

Bill sent an email to them...hope to find out tomorrow am

it won't be a group rate per se...just a link to a section where we all sit at...just like the MetLife games

Thanks. I need to nail down who in the clan is coming down here. I will be offering family back in Syracuse a place to stay and a game ticket if they can come down.

Need four definitely, if you need a count. Checking on others.

In my travels I have found Syr-Austin as pretty good airfares...you could fly into Austin and drive to Houston...no more than 2 to 2 1/2 hours
