How big will the crowd be for Saturday's home opener?

Dan LaDuke ‏@DLaDuke154h
@BrentAxeMedia my dad works in food service and he works with the people at su, they told him they are expecting 18,000 tomorrow

Holy moly, I was joking before, but if this is true we are in serious trouble as a program and Gross should be on the hot seat.
Don't agree with the Gross part. I don't like some of the things he's done (Football scheduling) but he came in and saved 'Cuse athletics.

Yeah, makes perfect sense to fire the guy who helped usher in unprecedented success across the whole athletic department.

Maybe you care about tennis and cross country, but out here in the real world all that matters is football and men's basketball. Basketball takes care of itself with Boeheim. During Gross' time as AD, our football program has seen unprecedented failure.

Tomcat and bees and cuseregular, and dcuse, gosu and I and all the hardcores on the board will be there so fluck it and fluck all the people that choose to stay home and kudos to the Syracuse fan regulars that are always there , that showed up during Grob years, and will show up through it the best and and the worst . Toi those about to attend I salute you !!!!! Go Orange

Two ten loss seasons, prior to his tenure we had none.
I get it. I get he made a bad hire for FB. I get it. I'm just willing to look at the entire picture. But most of your posts are so hyper-negative, I have a feeling you won't look past GRob. And that's OK. It just gets tiresome. It's like nothing good has happened during his tenure. Gotta look at both sides.

So glad people with this mentality aren't in charge. The best schools have well rounded athletic departments. Prior to Gross our AD was a joke with horrible coaches and a culture of losing. Hope Gross is here for as long as he wants to be.

If they're expecting 18,000 to be eating dome food there must be 40k+ attending. Noone that has been to the dome prior plans on eating there.

Not buying it.....the announced crowd will be in the low to mid 30s there will be 25 to 30 fannies in seats mark it down

Every year I hear those rumors. They are almost always wrong but we shall see. I am sticking to 35k.

ya the "source" is some student whose father allegedly works in food services. Axe had no business even retweeting that. I'd assume we have more then 18k season tickets sold so even before counting walk ups that number has been obliterated

Yeah, multiple final fours in men and women's sports, a bowl win, and a move to the ACC in one year = a complete failure.

Your loss if you could care less about the success of other SU sports.

I think Jake did ok with what he was given to work with. Almost got us in the ACC (thanks gov Warner). Just seems he hit the perfect storm of his own and the university's complacency.

My issue with Jake, aside from letting football deteriorate, was the way everything seemed and looked cheap. The Dome looked awful. That ORANGE(MEN) end zone. The fact that there was no common logo (interlocking SU, the Dome logo with SU under it, the basketball tem logo). He accepted losing among the Olympic sports. The football team wore orange jerseys and pants that didn't match.

I love the way that Gross has really picked sports at Syracuse can excel at.

We are extremely lucky to have Dr. Gross. I really don't understand how people actually have anything negative to say about him.

LOL, I am the one that usually gets piled on and eviscerated...but this comment is completely off base, even I am dumbfounded.

I even impressed myself using 2 words with more that 2 syllables in the same post.

Gross hasn't been perfect while here , but looking at the entire package, he's doing well.

Well at least the Company tickets that they could not give away , will be counted as sold.

Well, 4, but who's counting? ;)

Only thing I am capable of counting at this point is how many Captain and Coke's I have had and 4 was in the rear view around 7PM.
