How can Virginia Tech have such a roster decimation and basically reload?

They lost their HC to Texas A&M.
They lost their best player as a graduate transfer to Florida.
They lost their recruiting class.

Yet they hired the Wofford coach and are already on a good trajectory.
We are stuck in a mud.
