How Dino Babers will build Syracuse's new offense on the Baylor model

New underwear please.

The year 2 stats vs year 1 at both stops are telling. Easier said than done to be patient in year 1, but we fans really need to figure out how.
I'll be fine - even the year 1 stats for this offense will shame what anyone else has rolled out there the past 15 seasons. And his prior 1st year teams didn't have the skill position talent he's inheriting at SU. If being patient means I'm good with that kind of output, then no worries here.

We should all sign a pact to forgo criticism of the team and its players this Fall. Set a date in 2017 when we can resume being critical.
Oh, no way. No way. I'm looking forward way too much to the angry mob that will emerge the first time the offense scuffs it's feet, bemoaning how fast we play, saying we need to put a fullback in, we shoulda punted, yadda yadda yadda.

YOU CAN'T TAKE THIS FROM ME

No, no. They've been building the foundation to a "wish we had an attacking Shafer defense" for months now.

Actually I get quite amused watching how manic-depressive people get on sports boards (myself included) so there is no fun in that so no way! Reminds me of some people I know too! ;)

However I can't wait for someone to critize HCDB going for it on 4th down or how slow the offense will look against Clemson or FCU in the formative years or that his offense just doesn't work in the ACC!

Let the games begin this year!

I'll @#$%%# slap the first person who does this (only half-kidding).

I will put myself on the record that I will never criticize when he goes for it on 4th down. I'm sure it might seem crazy at times, but I'm ready for some fun!

There is one play in the Tennessee game where Babers went for it on 4th down near his own 20. The broadcasters said he was just going to try to draw Tennessee off sides, then he was going to call time out, then were incredulous he'd go for it on 4th down so deep in his own territory. They got the 1st on a long run, then scored a few plays later after long passes. The calm demeanor we've seen from him so far changes during the game. He got so upset with a missed pass interference call he got a 15 yard penalty for arguing the point with an official. He may lose games but it's going to be exciting. I would note that Baber's offensive linemen look incredibly lean. There was a comment by a broadcaster that the offensive line lost 150 lbs as a group, committing to and believing in Baber's system. This is going to be one exciting journey...
