And they need to tighten up the defense. Play 40 minutes. they did in overtime. Guys just need to learn to play together. You are going to eat your words. Bold claims. I’ve yet to see anything that would indicate “this roster is much better.”

We may have had a bunch of “me first” players last year, but the overall talent appears to be a tad bit better, especially on the defensive end. Losing Brown was huge. Judah, for all his issues, was still a significant upgrade at PG.

Freeman is clearly better than Bernie. Other than that, I’m not so sure this roster is a talent upgrade over last year. Maybe they can come together as a unit and start playing better as a team. It will need to start with defense. Our defense just looks awful. Much worse than last year.

Yeah, people need to get over their hurt feelings on Judah and realize that, for all his warts, he was a talented kid and won us a deeent number of games last year. Brown was always underrated here and Q’s energy is sorely missed. There may have been reasons to move on from all three, but we didn’t move on effectively.

This is a roster of parts. If you have a system that can take those parts, accentuate their positives and limit their exposure in the negatives, it can work ok. We don’t have that.

If the lightbulb ever goes on for Bell, this could be a very good team.He
Bell at times has done all the things he needs to do to be very good.
The Athletic ability is there, he needs to want to be great to do all the things he needs to do.
He has shown he can drive, pass, and defend, needs to do it all the time.

The possibility does exist that this is a ‘play everybody close’ team. Local YMCA 50+ team? 2 point win. NCAAT team? 2 point win.

At least that’s what I’m telling myself. This team has enough individual talent to play with good teams. It’s just a matter of getting the right lineups together with the right chemistry.

A question I think we should be asking ourselves every game: why is every team seemingly jelling so much faster than Syracuse despite their team seeing comparable turnover while being much less talented

2 out of the last 3 seasons we've hovered around that .500 mark and below it one of those years. Do you think before you come up with this stuff? Being honest about how things look so far doesn't mean anyone is cheering any less.
