How long until Colorado implodes?

Hmmmm They might mess around and make the playoff

If Colorado wins their next three games, which is at Kansas, Oklahoma State at home, and then probably BYU in the Big 12 title game, they'll be the #4 seed (or possibly even the #3 seed) in the CFP.

So you're saying they won't implode until next year when they don't have Shadeur or Travis Hunter.

Their schedule was definitely pretty soft but they are winning and making money. 2 fourth down plays away from cuse being in same boat but it’s going to be interesting to see what CU does with Deion and vice versa

I don’t believe my post had anything to do with next season.

Yeah, but the title of the thread is "How long until they implode", so
If they make a playoff run this year, and if Deion stays, I'm confident that they'll be a very desired destination for both recruits and transfers in the portal.

Why? They’re only good this year because of two players Deion recruited out of high school (and he’s related to one of them.)

Takes more than 2 players to make a team. Sure, Shedeur and Hunter are great, but you're selling the rest of the team a little short.

Why? Players like to win. And...
  • The campus is beautiful.
  • The Big 12 is winnable so they will be competitive.
  • They have NIL $$
    • Last year they signed Jordan Seaton the #1 OT in the class. Approx $800K NIL?
    • This year they believe they will sign JuJu Lewis a top 10 QB in the 2025 class. Mega NIL.
      • Corporate deals intertwined with tv/movie deals plus collective money and the new revenue sharing. His deal(s) will be worth millions of dollars.
    • CU expects to flip other big talents once JuJu Lewis is official.
    • Dieon used his connections and SMAC entertainment to connect marketable players to promotional deals.
    • Dieon and Shadeur have their own apparel deals. This will be available to other players too.
  • They have quality coaches.
    • Heck, Warren Sapp is a Quality Control analyst for the defense. He coaches the d-line.
  • They completely rebuilt their offensive line and their defense.
    • The identified what they needed and went and got it.
      • CU has approximately 50 transfers on this year's roster.
  • Tremendous community support.
    • They sold out every home game in 2023 and 2023. Not just season seats, but every seat.

Love him or hate him, there is no denying Coach Prime has changed things in Boulder.

In a mediocre Big 12, it apparently does not make more than 2 players.

This isn't about Deion. It's about two things.

1) The assumption that just because the transfer portal worked for a team once, it will always work, is foolhardy. Constant churn is going to blow up in your face at some point in time.
2) None of this is sustainable. Enthusiasm isn't sky-high forever, and the flash and appeal that Deion brings isn't always going to incomparable. No advantage is permanent.

You're very focused on extremes. "So you're saying they won't implode until next year." "None of this is sustainable forever."

Is it possible that the truth is in the middle? That Colorado is in good shape in the short/intermediate term?

Didn't realize this was so deadly serious.

Odds are very high Deion will bolt after this season. He never stayed anywhere long and he knows next year will be tougher to find success after losing his top 2 weapons.

I’ll bet you 10-1 he’ll make the team that signs Shadeur give him a coaching job.
