He’s from Wisconsin and has Marquette rolling. I don’t see him coming here. But maybe he’ll want to be in a P4 conference.I would love Shaka Smart

No. Kline wasn’t on staff yet.Is he the one who said Carlos’s advanced metrics were great? Then hard pass. I just lived through the Chaim Bloom era as a Sox fan, I don’t need a repeat of that with SU hoops.
Tyler Kolek, their star PG from the past two years, was a transfer from George Mason.FYI in regards to Marquette -
To wit, Marquette is the only power conference program that has not brought in a Division I transfer in any of the past three seasons. In 2024, Marquette was one of two power conference programs not to accept a transfer. (Purdue was the other.)
Shaka is a fantastic coach
Smart was the guy that I wanted but JB needed to quit 1-2 years earlier for the timing to be right. He’s from Wisconsin and has Marquette rolling. I don’t see him coming here. But maybe he’ll want to be in a P4 conference.

I say we hire Upstate.Who is a realistic option to follow the current staff?
Big fan of the bus owner stratI say we hire Upstate.
He had posted awhile ago that he wants to get into coaching. $15 an hour with no buyout.
He also owns his own bus. Solves the air travel problem.
We kill two birds with one stone with his hire.
Get a new coach AND save money.
Wrong. The foundation of any program is recruiting and Red has made incredible progress since taking overFirst, your point needs to be clarified that it’s not how it works *at Syracuse*, in your opinion, unless you’re ascribing that same point to every program, which you wouldn’t be able to know.
Second, the evidence so far is showing that Red taking over has not stopped our downward spiral. So whatever his role as a coach was during our downturn with JB isn’t changing the program’s trajectory after his ascension to HC.
