How much faster has Syracuse football gotten under Dino Babers?

According to the article, only four players on the 2016 team ran the 40-yard dash in less than 4.6 seconds. This winter, there were 17 players. That's awesome.
This is no fluke. Awesome!

In 2016, nine players could rep 225 pounds 20 or more times. The highest on the team finished with 26.

This winter, 17 players topped 20 reps, six players topped 25 reps, and three players topped 30 reps. The highest on the team finished with 37.

"On the squat rack, 14 players in 2016 lifted more than 450 pounds. This winter, 35 players squatted at least 500 pounds."

This stuff is insane. All hail Edinger! ...And the staff for targeting those that could.

It really goes to show how far we lagged behind during the Shafer years. Funnily enough, most of what we were told for why we recruited guys, in the Shafer years, was that they were fast and that obviously wasn't true.

As a side note, Tyrell Richards is getting a lot of love this off-season and it has me excited.

Coach Dino Babers and his entire Staff with what they are building have Syracuse University Football moving toward the upper crest of college football. We as fans/alumni are very blessed to have a group of coaches and support staff that is as talented as anyone in college football. My wish is that we all get a chance to enjoy a long period of sustained success. Long live successful Syracuse University Football ,Go Orange!!!!!!!

that is a crazy low number in 2016, 450 is not thaaat much

It was condition No. 1 for Babers to accept the job, IIRC, and it's why you see Edinger close to him during the games. He's like Babers right-hand man.
there is an SI article about how the strength guys are so important because they get the most time with the players - it's not just about weight room results
