How will you remember this season?

This roller coaster season was indeed frustrating from a "wins" standpoint. However, the kids gave it their all and were enjoyable to watch compared to the last few seasons. Hey, we won out last game and that usually only happens for us if we win the NC or NIT.

What I'll remember:
Given that this team didn't come close to making the tournament, I'm surprised at how much I like the team. Remarkably I'm not angry. Before the season we thought this team would be deep. Injuries to Jalen and Braswell ended that hope.
I had high hopes for Carey but early on his jumper did not look improved.
JG3 showed that he can play on this level. At times his shot selection was poor but I believe he will have a terrific career here.
Buddy greatly improved. He is not the greatest shooter in Cuse history and his offense off the bounce still needs a ton of work. But he is an excellent ACC player and there can be no question both guards will put in the work. The issue is will their athletic limitations result in another season of horrific perimeter defense. Both of these guys need to improve their shot selection. Buddy needs to slow down his free throw shooting which is not as good as it should be.
I think Quincy is just scratching the surface. He did not have as good a freshman year as Oshae and I worry about his leaping ability and his shot. But not his motor or upside. He finally got some experience which he definitely needed.
Bourama and Marek ended on a high note. Will they ever learn not to commit unnecessary fouls? i have high hopes for Edwards but not for next year. He's just too thin.
I liked what I saw from Brycen. He's not afraid. He just needs more run. I will never get why JB didn't play offense defense with him more and use him to rest the guards. He will be a great 4 year guy.
We lost so many winnable games at home. If we had beat ND, Va Tech and NC State we might have been tournament worthy. But other than when JG3 watched Wong hit that three I really never questioned their effort.
I'll miss Elijah. It sucks that we didn't make a run with him on this team. What a great transfer.
Overall this team wasn't very good. But they played hard and made things interesting other than in the early non conference schedule. We need more talent but this was a valuable building year for a young team.

As a disappointment, in general.

But I'll also remember how much the team improved after that disastrous start, how they came close to maximizing the team's capabilities, and how hard they fought / competed.

I'll also remember how terrific [individually] of a season Elijah Hughes put together.

The beat down we gave UNC in their home territory, in prime time on National Television. How UNC came into the game thinking they were going to walk away with an easy win. Lastly, how many picked UNC to win the ACC tourney? A masterful game. Proud of the players/coaches for the performance. Until next season...
Wait...UNC was the greatest 14th seed in the history of basketball (whatever that means).
Or not.

It was a nice sendoff for Elijah.
And a peek into what could be next year : The emergence of El Sid...the energy and inside work of Q and Marek's all-around play.
All the Orange need is a new league-leading go-to scorer.

JGIII 's bounce pass
Brycen in the Mask
Buddy and Joe's first year together
Sid putting it all together down the stretch
Marek's coast to coasting
Quincy looking like a grown man as a Freshman
Sneak peak at Edwards' skills
Hughes playing at All ACC level and looking cool doing it

Years from now, I don't think I'll remember it that much. If we are able to reestablish ourselves where we used to be, this year will fall back into history the way other down stretches have for me. If we don't, it will likely just blend in with every year we've had since our slide began, as I remember the fond memories of the great teams of the past.

No seniors, and even though we will lose Eli, our future is bright, and the demise of JB has been overblown. He showed he can still coach with the best of ‘em, and recruiting is finally picking back up.

What a strange year it has been. All of those mini heart attacks were for nothing, they are shutting this down.

What is your take a way from this season? I believe that although it was a pretty mediocre year, we saw a ton of development, especially down the stretch.

QG, BB, Sid, etc.

Feel bad for Hughes, heck of a player and we’re going to miss him.

This season was terrible.

No signature wins.

We pounded a 14-18 team at the end.

If there was any year to pretend didn't happen, it was this one.

Elijah will be headed to the next level. And he will undoubtedly sleep right through this thread.

It was "The year of living dangerously" or maybe courageously or possibly outrageously. But overall a team that never gave up, a coach that proved he still has the knack for winning even when he behaves like a grade A curmudgeon, and an outlook for 2020/ 2021 that starts on an upward trajectory. There is hope in the bowels of the Dome which hopefully won't get sidetracked by forces beyond control.

I’m gonna remember Jimmy Fallon. Because that’s what Brent Axe said is the only thing to remember. He knows best.

I’ll remember SU’s beat down of UNC as the last game prior to the outrageous covid-19 overreaction. Broke a 9 game losing streak to UNC and SU pummeled the best 14 seed ever finalizing a losing season for UNC.

Eli was the ACC leading scorer.

The beginning of the JG3 era and back to a more enjoyable brand of basketball.

The showing of the late emergence of Sid. Kind of a Seikaly type ending of his jr year. And secretly knowing that QG is going to be good.

A very likeable team.

almost everyone exceeded my expectations (JGlll, Buddy, Eli, Marek, even Sidibe)

Yet, a very mediocre team (a very poor team by Cuse standards)

this year was about growth as a team in novemeber and december looked like finishing 500 would be a stretch to at the end of the year i felt we could play with almost everyone on our best day
