Huge win, schedule opens up.

Fair points with losing two coordinators. And Venables was a huge loss. Still, this staff won the ACC championship and has been in the playoffs since. Regardless, your point remains valid.

With FSU being bad sans 2023 and Miami not being Miami like until last year winning the ACC is nothing more than being the tallest midget in the room. Making the playoffs now vs when it was 4 teams is different because you have the automatic bid so it isn't the same as making the 4 team.

Quite frankly until the aggregate strength of the conference improves its a paper tiger effect (literally). 2020 was the last year they made the 4 team playoff (COVID year) and 2021 was the DJ U experiment and we all know how that went. Venables is at Oklahoma starting 2022. Is it any coincidence they didn't make the 4 year playoff since 2020 and wouldn't have even been in the 12 team playoff if we don't upset Miami?

Let us not forget that just 2 weeks and 2 days ago, at halftime of the UConn game, a lot of fans here wanted a QB change.
And the Defensive Coordinator to be kicked to the curb "because his defensive schemes are a joke, no pressure on the QB". ERob's D gave up 7 points in the 2nd half to Clemson in garbage time. Made Klubnick look like a joke. Held Clemson to 4 for 18 on 3rd and 4th downs.

Preseason I was going 7-5. During the UConn game I started thinking 6-6 might be tough. During the Clemson game I had 8+ on the table. With Angeli down I’m back to 7-5 as the goal.

The obvious 4 wins are Duke, UNC, Pitt, BC, but it seems unlikely we win the obvious ones and lose the obvious ones. Wouldn’t be shocked if we lost to BC or Pitt and beat SMU or GT.

Say SU/FSU/Cal run the table.

FSU is probably 12-0
SU 11-1
Cal 11-1

Imagine if the tiebreaker puts SU-Cal in and FSU were left out but still gets in the playoffs. They could in theory be #1 in the country and not in the ACC playoff,

With the jump in OL play, I think 6-6 is achievable with Collins. Getting to 4 this week is essential.

Clemson sucking and Angeli achiles is making all the headlines but What about the jump in Defense? I feel like I'm not watching the same team on defense.

I just can't take a Duke team seriously that only scored 2 TDs against an Illinois Defense that gave up 63 points Saturday. Mensah is a big step up from Klub and won't miss open receivers but the running game and WR core is nowhere near what we've already seen at Tenn and Clemson.

Most people would say the Duke QB throws better than what we have seen so far.

Hopefully his trend continues. 380/334/313/269. He has 11 TDs. They moved the ball all over Ill but you cant have 4 fumbles and score. They only punted 1 time.

They have not really stopped anyone on D. We need to show some offense with the new QB and limit bad mistakes.
