Hunt Seems to See the Field Well

He has a great pocket presence and keeps his eyes down the field while shifting around. I'm curious to see how that holds up when there is legit pressure but as you stated he seems to have great peripheral vision.

Thankfully, not this:

could that be attributable to his high level play as a BB point guard for the NYS Champs?

He seems calm - relaxed on the field.

Something that can't be taught.
hate to admit it but that's a good point.

chip kelly said his ideal qb is rajon rondo

football is more about quick decisions and getting the ball to the right guy and taking it yourself if it comes to it. and less about daryl lamonica deep balls

Very true as long as your "point guard" has QB skills. TCU found out the hard way what happens when your QB can't throw at all. Almost impossible to play from behind.

i don't think we're in that bind with hunt.

a college qb's legs get people more open than his arm. tebow throws terrible and his college passing numbers were amazing

I remember a couple of years ago around the time of the NFL draft, the showed an old video of Bill Walsh describing what he looks for in evaluating QB prospects. Arm strength wasn't even in his top 10 of evaluative criteria. Instead, he focused on things like leadership, work ethic, the ability to rapidly process information, etc. He actually laughed when asked about arm strength, saying that he took for granted that each player would have an adequate arm, so he didn't bother worrying about it.

And yet, seemingly every year at the draft, some dopey team falls for someone like Kyle Boller or Jamarcus Russell throwing the ball 60 yards from their knees, and that influences their decision to draft a QB who lacks the really important attributes needed to be a successful QB.

I agree...Hunt is a QB that happens to be a very good athlete. I really like his accuracy.

I think Shafer said as much after the NW game. Something along the lines of basketball players seeing wide and passing angles better...
