Hunt working out in California

I don't know what they were doing with the team magic team bird stuff, but Hunt winning in what was presumably a QB competition can't be a bad thing.

hes a big dude, and when you watch his highlights its easy to see how slow his feet are in the pocket. The ball also gets out a little sluggish without a lot of zip. I think its awesome hes working with whitfield, and hopefully his feet and accuracy can improve a bit

He's never been fast. But he is elusive and has good vision. Moves like a basketball player.

A few thoughts/questions:

1. yeah. It's awesome he's working with GW and that he is winning competitions.
2. He's a jacked up dude. Yeesh, he's turning into McNabb during his first few years with the Eagles.
3. Who pays for these lessons/flights/accommodations/etc? This has to cost a pretty penny, so I'm just curious.
4. I wonder if Lester/Shafer had anything to do getting him hooked up with GW?
5. Any improvements you're making TH, please keep them. We need you in a BIG way this year.

Hunt will be solid this year.

Last year not withstanding the offense has the best collection of athletes at WR and RB since P was here.

Up to Lester to put together a coherent package that uses those talents.

This won't be a top 40 offense, but is capable of much more than the last two years.

That's the elephant in the room at this point.

Agree with you on the second point - best collection of athletes at skill positions that we have had in a long, long time. A lot of young kids, but the fortunate thing is that if put in proper positions, they should be able to be effective at a younger age than the line positions.

Hoping for the best, and really hoping for a 3-0 start with 30+ PPG during that stretch. Anything less and I'll be disappointed.

We'll see--I hope you are right, but I think it is way too early to annoint a group of largely unproven skilled players. Time will certainly tell.

Do they have to prove themselves as players, absolutely, but I don't think there is any debate that as a group both units are bigger and faster and deeper with athletes than the last ten years.

...and we'll see how that translates into on-field production. Last year, Custis was bigger / faster than most of the guys defending him, but didn't do much. Now, he's a more experienced, more physically mature player who on paper should be ready to contribute at a higher level. But it remains to be seen that he [or Enoicy, or any of them, frankly] will.

Given how poor the skilled talent performed last season, I'm not comfortable viewing them favorably until they prove it on the field.

I'm not comfortable viewing them negatively given the conditions they were subjected to. Injuries and McD completely destroyed any sense of cohesion on the offense. I'm not saying they will light the world on fire but I honestly believe there is no way it's as bad as last year.

Who's viewing them "negatively?" That's quite a stretch from UNPROVEN, and being skeptical about whether the skilled talent base approaches average for college football [a valid and important question, IMO]. This board has histocially demonstrated a huge bias toward over-estimating our talent--happens every year. And after last year's offensive debacle, I'm in wait-and-see mode. I agree--there were factors that worked against us last year, and hopefullly those things change this year. But again, we'll see. Even our OC is unproven.

Agree. Unproven is not a negative. Question marks are just that. They break one way or the other.
