Hunt working out in California

Who's viewing them "negatively?" That's quite a stretch from UNPROVEN, and being skeptical about whether the skilled talent base approaches average for college football [a valid and important question, IMO]. This board has histocially demonstrated a huge bias toward over-estimating our talent--happens every year. And after last year's offensive debacle, I'm in wait-and-see mode. I agree--there were factors that worked against us last year, and hopefullly those things change this year. But again, we'll see. Even our OC is unproven.

My apologies, I misunderstood the post when you said they played so poorly last year. Carry on.

A few thoughts/questions:

1. yeah. It's awesome he's working with GW and that he is winning competitions.
2. He's a jacked up dude. Yeesh, he's turning into McNabb during his first few years with the Eagles.
3. Who pays for these lessons/flights/accommodations/etc? This has to cost a pretty penny, so I'm just curious.
4. I wonder if Lester/Shafer had anything to do getting him hooked up with GW?
5. Any improvements you're making TH, please keep them. We need you in a BIG way this year.

The below article says Hunt's stepfather got the money together for the week long workout.

Objectively, can that honestly be disputed? Doesn't mean that their performance can't or won't improve, but c'mon. It would take some serious silver lining rationalization to characterize the collective performance of last year's skilled offensive talent as anything but poor. In fact, "poor" might be too kind of a descriptive adjective when you consider how historically bad the numbers were.

Interesting, whit fields site says it's only $600 tuition, plus hotel car rental and airfare. I thought it would be more than that.

Former athletes have it made, set up shop in a wealthy area, charge the moon to make your little billy the next superstar.

Wish TH had spent more than a week there.

Hunt is such an easy player to root for. He really has intrinsic leadership qualities. After his sophomore season, I was honestly expecting him to begin taking things to the next level and have a big year last season. He got off on the wrong foot, getting tossed in the first half of our opening game, and never seemed to get on track. Here's hoping he rebounds in a big way--that would be a great story!

Think that is really great that Kevin Johnson would come up and work with the guys. Know that some of his players, including his son, will be coming up for a visit also.

It's definitely great Johnson is getting so involved with the program. His son is very high on SU right now. If he were a '16 prospect, I'm about 99% sure he'd be a commit. I think he will be in '18, too. More good news on that end: he's very good friends with Fred Hansard, one of the top DL prospects in '17 who is seriously considering SU right now.
