Hunt

What do you see that others are not seeing? Meaning looking at the numbers the last three games they have been historically bad. In the last three games he hasn't shown any flashes with his arm. Meaning not one time did he spin a ball and said I WOW There is a next level throw. He can run sure but that isn't enough to make it in this league. Things you can't really teach is what I see lacking in Hunt. I am just curious as to what I am missing and why you still hold him in high hopes?
How about the pass to Broyld against NC State that kicked off a TD drive? That was a beautifully thrown ball. Perhaps his issue is that once we hit the ACC schedule, the game picked up speed on him and he has not progressed to the point where it has slowed down for him? This might explain why he looked so good against Wagner and Tulane and so poor since (I am only talking about his passing as I think he is still a pretty good running QB). I think this is fairly common with athletes who are in their first year of starting in college (or pro, for that matter). You see this quite often with guys who seem to have a quantum leap in performance from one year to the next.

I still think he has a lot of upside potential. Even McPherson, Graves and McNabb had their struggles their first year, they just had better teams around them, particularly at the WR position.

kid has played 5 games -
our receivers got open those 2 wins and have played on crutch's the 3 loss's

this is way more about staff than personnel imho

Hunt is 2-2 as a starter and played the majority of the game vs Wagner (a W). So that's 3-2.

My thought about Wilson and Kimble is why not? They can't be any worse or less ready than what Hunt has shown the last 3 games and what Allen has shown the first 2 games. Other teams in the nation have no problem starting true freshman I don't know why we are so special especially since we are currently getting terrible QB play. I am not worried about burning a red shirt. We have two freshman this year and two incoming freshman next year. The last thing I would be worried about is burning a red shirt this year. But then again I don't know.

They definitely can be worse and less ready than Hunt

In my opinion Hunt while not great hasn't been a train-wreck or just so awful its embarrassing. He has to start the remainder of this season no matter how bad it looks sometimes and for him he has to use this as a showcase to keep the job next year or at least remain the favorite heading into camp. But he has to show something and some improvement these last few games because he can play his way into a job next year (or at least be the big favorite) but he can also play himself out of one just as easily

Keep the freshmen redshirted and let's see if Hunt and even Allen/Loeb can do something with their chance. I honestly think it's best to see what Hunt can do now and this gets the freshman more prep for the future in practice. Hunt can not say he didn't have a chance to prove what he has.
