The Pats old jerseys are reminders of when they were a laughingstock and their games were blacked out even in Mass. There's no "tradition" behind them. The uniforms they've worn since 2001 have a slight alteration, but that's the era of success for them. That's "tradition". Whatever that means.

Not going to turn this into a Patriots thread as Bills fans will get triggered.
Patriots fans like the old jerseys miles more.
They were only garbage from 1988 to 1992.
They made a SB in 1985 in those jerseys and in 1976 got screwed against the Raiders in those threads.
The new threads are the Brady era and when he retires the jerseys will change.

Our Mac era uniforms annoyed some for the fact the top was blue. That blue could be any color.

Hey now, people have been complaining about unis for years on this forum. Pretty sure as a one time long term lurker that the majority of ya have opined on Syracuse unis, both like and disliking. Maybe we should make one master uni thread like the Rutgers dumpster fire thread.

I don’t know if that would work. It would be the same thing page after page and get stale rather quick. Always the same arguments, wouldn’t be able to tell one page from another in that thread.

By contrast Rutgers seems to reinvent ways to embarrass themselves. That thread stays fresh.

Uniforms were really ugly on Friday night.

The look is a little different than the Gross look, but the misguided approach is the same - gimmickry - just like so many other middle of the road programs these days.

What did you think of Iowa's uniform.

But what the heck at this point. The uniforms look really bad imo. Like the browns minor league team or something. I am not young but liked the previous wave and thought they were unique and distinctive.
Would they look glorious if we weren’t playing like trash? Possibly, but this was my initial take upon the reveal anyway.

So yeah, add a uniform thread to the list of things to complain about.

And by the way, I don't agree with the premise - the contemporary NE uniform is more attractive than the old uniform.

I never really understood why the Patriots used red as the dominant color in the old days.

Wasn't the Continental Army fighting the Redcoats? ("the Redcoats are coming!").

Plus, the old NE uniform for most part symbolized years of ineptitude by the team and the organization.

Ironically, pats hall of famers are given red jackets. Red coats for the patriots that fought the red coats!
