I am ALL in on this man leading the charge

I want to see GS checking a thick cheat sheet on his wrist, like in the good ole' days. Diversify and Multiply the offense with more plays and formations.

We are an offensive coordinator away from being really good, like really really good. Here’s to hoping Gilbert gets a visit from the heavens in his dreams on how to call plays before WF or we need to spend some dough on a high level innovative OC for next year. Like where the D is and don’t want to blow it all up just yet….

You’re left with the distinct feeling that Shredder will be having discussions with DFB and Sterlin about giving them a chance on offense.

Now that he has some evidence I bet he will use that leverage to get more influence. Dude is clearly highly competitive and highly annoyed
As i posted he was turning heads in camp. Kids a leader and a gammer. I fully expect him to make some dumb decisions but it will because hes trying to make a play.
Remind you of anyone.

I was impressed that he knows where the TE is ;). Wait until he hits a fully operational Benson in stride.

He's a leader for sure. I just don't know if he has the arm to take us where we want to go. The better teams are going to stack the box.

Wish I could agree but I can't. On our last drive 1st and 10 (after Shraders nice 1st down scramble) we throw a WR screen to Jackson. Elmore completely whiffs the block and it blows up the play. I think Jackson got a yard maybe 2? But if Elmore makes the block it's at a minimum a 5/6 yard play and possibly more when you see how it could've played out with a block. It's a bit weird because the FSU guy ducks under Elmore but he doesn't even put a hand on him. Then after missing the lead guy he also barely touches the second guy. You just shake your head watching it, it's the Elmore version of the Marlow Wax sideline play. The play is at the 2:23 mark left in the game.
And he also made a bunch of great, key blocks

yep sure does. Prediction, dude leads us to a W this weekend, shaves the beard in a way showing his devotion to the cause (yeah don't ask me what I mean), marking the new era of Garrett Shrader football at the Cuse!

I like that he sees what is happening and I like what he is suggesting get changed.

I am not sure it is a good move for him to second guess the coaches (to a degree) in a press conference, especially so early in his career.

Don't get me wrong. It is fine to talk about this in private, but he needs to be careful what he says in public.
Dino was asked about Shrader's remarks in his Monday press conference. The reporter added something about a player game planning or something. Dino said that the player's don't know enough to game plan, but that a player has the right to express what he likes and doesn't like to do in an offense. I have no reason to take that anyway but at face value, but I do agree that, ideally, that is something you raise in private first.

I have no contact with the program, but I would assume that players get some type of briefing at some point about what is and isn't appropriate to say and/or do in a press conference.

To me, Dino appears to be relatively easy-going, but I think part of Jarveon Howard's recent problems related to his on-field reaction to not getting the ball on that Shrader touchdown. So, there is evidence he does care how his players act in public. But, who knows what his limits are in that regard.

Unless you were taj harris, then you could get away with anything

He’s improving a bit already, thats a fair concern though. Could be offset by opening up the playbook to keep the defense on its heels. Defense already needs to account for Tucker, and now shrader’s legs too.

Sure he does, if utilized properly. Getting him rolling out where he can decide whether to run or pass is where he'll thrive.

He doesn't have to be Nassib. We need enough for some reasonable balance. Teams stacking the box isn't going to work anymore, because Shrader can make throws. They can't just load up to stop Tucker anymore.

The offense got a lot more dynamic to defend against when GS was substituted for TD.

I like that he brought up the play calling because it was atrocious the first two drives. Everyone saw it and knew it.

I don’t think it should become a trend with him tho.

GS has a different swag to him than TD. I enjoy it and for some crazy reason, I believe in him to get us to 6 wins. And if he doesn’t, it feels like ALL the games are going to be competitive which we haven’t really seen in 2 years.

now if only we could get a good OC we could be blasting off by next season

I'm not necessarily defending it, but Matt Park had asked Dino before the game if he would throw it more knowing that FSU would gear up to stop Tucker. Dino said we're going to try to establish Tucker early so we can see how they plan on stopping him.

I think that was in the Perry's ice cream interview thing. But I figured things would be very vanilla early on after hearing that, and then we'd make some adjustments based on it.

it's funny this is the exact type of offense where an AET would have been awesome in. A go up and get it WR. WE need those WRs who can win 1x1s with pure athletic ability. Having this type of QB should get us some looks in the portal for these type of guys in the offseason.

Shraderbrew has me excited for sure. We need to find more of these gunslinger types who want to lead.

Let's find 3 more wins. Let's do this.

I think his comments were entirely appropriate, for this one time at least. If he's giving voice to what the other offensive players are thinking, they will rally behind that. And it's not a peevish petulant temper tantrum that will divide the locker room. Babers may ask him to dial it down, but I'm glad GS took a stand. This is what our QB should do, IMO. And from the outside it sure looks like we have had a total lack of it for the last two gd insufferable years.

1) I think he's just going to be an honest and forthright guy when asked questions, but I do think he'll be a bit more selective in his commentary moving forward.

2) However, I do think he may have wanted to set the tone now that this is his team. I think he was being honest here, but I think those comments were just as much for the guys in the locker room than it was anything else. This kid was a high profile recruit and started in the SEC, it's not his first rodeo, I think a bit of that was to establish his role on the team.

Yup, I think he’s grabbing the reigns and saying, hey look, this is my team now

The defense gave up a lot of big plays in the second half that were just as costly as the offensive misses.

Yeah, I can see Babers not wanting a guy to talk like that, but, uh... I think the team needs some guys to be willing to talk like that.
