As i posted he was turning heads in camp. Kids a leader and a gammer. I fully expect him to make some dumb decisions but it will because hes trying to make a play. You’re left with the distinct feeling that Shredder will be having discussions with DFB and Sterlin about giving them a chance on offense.
Now that he has some evidence I bet he will use that leverage to get more influence. Dude is clearly highly competitive and highly annoyed
And he also made a bunch of great, key blocksWish I could agree but I can't. On our last drive 1st and 10 (after Shraders nice 1st down scramble) we throw a WR screen to Jackson. Elmore completely whiffs the block and it blows up the play. I think Jackson got a yard maybe 2? But if Elmore makes the block it's at a minimum a 5/6 yard play and possibly more when you see how it could've played out with a block. It's a bit weird because the FSU guy ducks under Elmore but he doesn't even put a hand on him. Then after missing the lead guy he also barely touches the second guy. You just shake your head watching it, it's the Elmore version of the Marlow Wax sideline play. The play is at the 2:23 mark left in the game.

yep sure does. Prediction, dude leads us to a W this weekend, shaves the beard in a way showing his devotion to the cause (yeah don't ask me what I mean), marking the new era of Garrett Shrader football at the Cuse!As i posted he was turning heads in camp. Remind you of anyone.
That’s why you roll outHe's a leader for sure. I just don't know if he has the arm to take us where we want to go. The better teams are going to stack the box.
Dino was asked about Shrader's remarks in his Monday press conference. The reporter added something about a player game planning or something. Dino said that the player's don't know enough to game plan, but that a player has the right to express what he likes and doesn't like to do in an offense. I have no reason to take that anyway but at face value, but I do agree that, ideally, that is something you raise in private first.I like that he sees what is happening and I like what he is suggesting get changed.
I am not sure it is a good move for him to second guess the coaches (to a degree) in a press conference, especially so early in his career.
Don't get me wrong. It is fine to talk about this in private, but he needs to be careful what he says in public.

I have no contact with the program, but I would assume that players get some type of briefing at some point about what is and isn't appropriate to say and/or do in a press conference.
To me, Dino appears to be relatively easy-going, but I think part of Jarveon Howard's recent problems related to his on-field reaction to not getting the ball on that Shrader touchdown. So, there is evidence he does care how his players act in public. But, who knows what his limits are in that regard.
He’s improving a bit already, thats a fair concern though. Could be offset by opening up the playbook to keep the defense on its heels. Defense already needs to account for Tucker, and now shrader’s legs too. He's a leader for sure. I just don't know if he has the arm to take us where we want to go. I would rather see him come out of the locker with a big, bushy orange beard.yep sure does. Prediction, dude leads us to a W this weekend, shaves the beard in a way showing his devotion to the cause (yeah don't ask me what I mean), marking the new era of Garrett Shrader football at the Cuse!
I like that he brought up the play calling because it was atrocious the first two drives. Everyone saw it and knew it.
I think his comments were entirely appropriate, for this one time at least. If he's giving voice to what the other offensive players are thinking, they will rally behind that. And it's not a peevish petulant temper tantrum that will divide the locker room. Babers may ask him to dial it down, but I'm glad GS took a stand. This is what our QB should do, IMO. And from the outside it sure looks like we have had a total lack of it for the last two gd insufferable years.I like that he brought up the play calling because it was atrocious the first two drives. I don’t think it should become a trend with him tho.
GS has a different swag to him than TD. I enjoy it and for some crazy reason, I believe in him to get us to 6 wins. And if he doesn’t, it feels like ALL the games are going to be competitive which we haven’t really seen in 2 years.
now if only we could get a good OC we could be blasting off by next season

The defense gave up a lot of big plays in the second half that were just as costly as the offensive misses.I like that he brought up the play calling because it was atrocious the first two drives. Everyone saw it and knew it.

Yeah, I can see Babers not wanting a guy to talk like that, but, uh... I think the team needs some guys to be willing to talk like that.1) I think he's just going to be an honest and forthright guy when asked questions, but I do think he'll be a bit more selective in his commentary moving forward.
2) However, I do think he may have wanted to set the tone now that this is his team. I think he was being honest here, but I think those comments were just as much for the guys in the locker room than it was anything else. This kid was a high profile recruit and started in the SEC, it's not his first rodeo, I think a bit of that was to establish his role on the team.
