I am dreaming of playing sweet 16 in Boston!!!!

if the Orange are not playing in boston for the tourny...

then something has gone terribly wrong.

Oh Lord

can we get shipped elsewhere and they possibly send carolina or duke and we go out west?

I saw a bracket yesterday (CBS I think), that had Duke in Boston and us getting shipped to Phoenix. Like W. T. ...

If SU is in the Top 10 at the end of the year and isn't playing in Pittsburgh and Boston, we should fire-bomb the NCAA headquarters.

I saw that, doesn't make sense

One of Duke/UNC will get a #1 when they win the ACC, and I imagine that team would go to Atlanta

If Cuse or UConn win the Big East they will be the #1 in Boston

That was cnnsi.com

Absolutely crazy.

I gotta say, I know it is early, but I don't get that at all.

4 regional sites are Boston, St. Louis, Atlanta, Phoenix. The SEC and ACC are weaker than the Big East/Big 10, so UK and Duke/UNC won't get beaten up as bad in conference play, so you can pencil in Kentucky for St. Louis and Duke/UNC for Atlanta. If SU is tops in the Big East the team they need to finish ahead of is Ohio St. to get Boston.

All 3 times UConn won the national title they were put in the West.

Good news for us is that the FF is in New Orleans.

We got 'ed 2 years ago playing sweet 16 game in salt lake. Half empty arena, lame atmosphere. Boston will be large crowds and very pro cuse, definitely want that over getting shipped west again.

Can we get that pod, what does it take, who knocks us out?

Look, Cuse is good and can certainly beat anyone this season...

But, I'm not sure I wanna play a #5, 6, or 7 seeded Harvard in Boston.

Their students and local alumni plus all the fans from every other school in the region would equal 85-90% of the building rooting for them.

And it's not like 'Cuse hasn't crapped out against lesser teams in the NCAA tourney over the years. (See Vermont, Richmond, Rhode Island, & Navy)

So, I'll take Boston... Just so long as Harvard's not there too.

Seriously? Sign me up now to play an Ivy League team in the EAST REGIONALS.

Also...Richmond, Rhode Island and Navy were all over 20 years ago...how is that relevant?? DePaul made the final four in the 80's - do they worry you on Sunday?

I suppose there's no way to get a #1 seed in ATL? Damn.

Why the hell would we want to be placed in Atlanta??

So the road to New Orleans is Pittsburgh --> Boston/Phoenix --> New Orleans.

First, in the BE, we have to take care of business and lose no more than 3 games with a split with UCONN (or sweep). Assuming that happens, Cuse vs. OSU will be interesting battle for the East #1. I could see us being ranked higher, with a slightly better record, and OSU still getting the nod due to RPI, better conference rating for B10, etc. Time will tell, with this team, I don't think it matters... we are ending up in New Orleans no matter what road is paved...

Do you live in Atlanta?
Give me Boston and I will be there ... money be damned!!
andI'll see everybody at the Black Rose!!

I'll take Harvard in a NCAA tourney regional all day long...BUT we are way too early for any of this talk. We have a ton of business to take care of in next 2 months.

If we end up playing Harvard in the NCAA's, it will be in the 2nd round (I refuse to call the final 32 the "third round"), because the highest they will be seeded will be an 8 or 9. Too weak of a schedule to warrant higher than a 8 seed for the Crimson. Of course, they did beat a decent St. Joe's team today. They have only played 3 top 100 teams and have zero top 100 teams left on their schedule.

It will be very interesting to see where the NCAA committee seeds a possible undefeated Murray St team and a possible 1 loss Harvard team...both with extremely weak schedules.

Finally, someone who knows what the heck they're doing. SU playing in Pittsburgh and Boston: Linky

Not sure I like Xavier as an 8 seed. Hopefully they can turn it back on and get a higher seed.

Ha...agree on both. I'd play Harvard on their campus!

Wouldn't surprise me if UNC and Duke both get #1s. They're not likely to lose to anybody but each other for the rest of the year so they could both end up with only 3 losses (assuming UNC wins 2 out of 3). Kentucky is likely to get one too - they could easily lose only 1 or 2 more the rest of the way. That would leave the Big East, Big 10 and Big 12 winners fighting for the last spot. Ohio State is the only one that has, arguably, a schedule as tough as ours, so if Baylor or Mizzou pulled away in the Big 12 with only a couple of losses I could see them taking it. The Big 10 and Big East could eat their own.

If we win the Big East, we will get a #1 seed. Likely in Boston.
