How is it that I can watch Mexico v Honduras for free on ESPN but I have to pay to see the US v Costa Rica? What?

I can't believe I am watching. I think SU will beat Wagner, Tulane, Wake, BC, and Pitt. Seems like NC State and Maryland will be the games that really determine how successful this season will be.

This right here is how you jinx your teams. Mexico scored a quick one. US goes down 2-0 early. Yanks blow an 8-3 lead while in a WC battle.

How is it that I can watch Mexico v Honduras for free on ESPN but I have to pay to see the US v Costa Rica? What?

The home team controls the media rights. Start up companies love outbidding ESPN for US road games to try to drive subscriptions (or PPV, like the last Hex). Gotta be honest though, BeIN has an awesome lineup for soccer fans. I wouldn't be surprised if they are a regular digital cable channel in the next 10 years; Americans are finding out soccer is more than the USMNT, Brazil, and the EPL. (BeIN has Serie A, La Liga, South American qualies, etc)

You should have watched Yankees-Red Sox. Red Sox just scored about 30 runs in a 45 minute half inning with an SU ad behind hone plate the entire time. We picked the right inning.

Getting FSC 10 or 15 years ago was so clutch. Before it became widely available, the best bets to catch some international club games was on FSNY during the BPL Highlight shows.

My college housemates all thought I was crazy for waking up early on Saturday mornings while hungover to watch Reyna at City, McBride, Dempsey, and Bocanegra at Fulham, Spector in FA Cup games at ManU, and just about all the Liverpool games I could get...

Now, some of them that joked about it are as into soccer as I was. It's crazy how much the sport has grown commercially in the past decade. FSC was a huge part of that, it is sad to see it die.

I had no clue that I had Bein until tonight when I checked my non hd stations but there it was. Game aside, a pleasant surprise and nice to know moving forward!

BeIN also carries some Fiba basketball which is pretty cool
