I cant believe they are presing us still

Honestly, it wouldn't matter for Depaul either way. I'm fairly certain we'd shred their half court defense just as efficiently.

I'm happy they are pressing us. Oliver Purnell's presses are some of the most difficult in college bball. Playing 40 minutes against them is good experience for our guys for later in the year. This game is great experience for MCW, especially.

Same. I'm glad we get to go against it in real-time game action before we see it vs. teams like Louisville.

Also, we have 12 turnovers, which I guarantee is the most we've had in the 1st half all year, so it's doing something.

Oh I agree that it will help. I am just surprised because this could get to 30 points soon.

I agree on all counts. I'm shocked they are still pressing us and it is good exposure for the guys. A teams TOs will always be higher against a press but so will a teams shooting percentage. I don't think any team can beat SU playing 40mins of press D. It gives us to many layouts and allows us to set the zone on every made basket. We can literally win without ever running half court offense!

Agree, this is what Louisville will look like and is excellent training.

No way. Scoop's an excellent ball handler and a great PG.
Agreed! The last thing you want to do is press Scoop he is way better in the open court than the half court!

That's DePaul's style of play. They're not going to change what they do in practice in every day. I like Pernell's up tempo game. He just needs to bring in more talented players to run his system against BE caliber teams.

You guys are kidding, right. He was shaky at best in the 1H against the press and was yanked because of it.

He had 2 TOs for the game per the boxscore I missing the first 12mins because of the Jets post game! But anyone scouting Scoop would say he is better in transition than the half court. The press creates transition opportunities Scoop only had 3 assist so maybe he (or his teammates) blew a few transition opportunities but since we were up 21 at the half and everyone is complaining we should have been up 30 maybe pressing this team isn't a good idea!
