I can't recall a SU hoops game I've felt this negative about

With all due respect, Coby White is the PG from UNC who when he's hot, is almost as hot as Cam Johnson from the 3pt range, holds the all time scoring record in the state of North Carolina and was a top 25 recruit. 1st team All-American also.
Johnson is shooting 52.2% overall, 47.3% from 3. White shooting 42% and 36% respectively. Certainly White is capable of having an outstanding game on Tuesday but I fear Johnson much more. Last game against FSU -- White 0-5 from 3, 4-13 overall. Johnson 3-4 from 3, 6-13 overall. Previous game against Duke -- White 1-6 from 3, 3-14 overall. Johnson 0-4 from 3, 11-17 overall. It would be nice to think that White has hit a "Freshman wall".

This is also a game where Colby White looks at the zone and goes 3-22. Hopefully.

More worried about Maye and Cam Johnson launching from deep.
Cam Johnson is my biggest fear i can see him hitting 8 3s.

How soon we forget... back in the BE glory days I felt every game against Pitt was hopeless and often times it was. They beat us every year using almost the same exact script. There were quite a few games I felt that way about Louisville as well.

Not sure what to make of the fact that there is a script out there for beating your strategy yet you do nothing to adjust.

Maye is having a mediocre year shooting the 3, more concerned about him getting to the line and putting Chukwu/Doley/Sidibe in foul trouble

we own some hugeeeeeeee wins over North Carolina when it really counts in the NCAA Tournament, Including in 1975 journey to the final four when no one and i mean no one thought we should be on the floor with them.

How can anybody forget 1987 once again on the way to the final Four when Rony Seikaly just went off one them and then ragged on Dookie V. after for saying they had no chance.

these are just two massive wins over NC when i counted

Fake news. If we shoot 35% or better from 3 I think we can win this one.

We haven’t won a game this year shooting less than 40 percent from 3. But the good news is if we get run off the court, a lot of people won’t see it. It’s not being televised in many places.

That’s easier said than done. Battle has problems too, not because he’s doing something wrong, just because it’s the nature of the defense. People used to get mad at Triche, then Cooney for the same stuff. Even though JB changes it up some, usually the weak side guard drops to the foul line. If the other team is doing a good job of rotating the ball and/or using skip passes it’s not easy going from the foul line and getting into a shooters face. It’s almost always we just fly at the shooter. It’s why we push up the forward often to get to the wing shooter, which leaves that corner open. But then we have the center go out to the corner shooter which isn’t easy either, although Dolezaj is pretty good at it. Then the weak side forward drops to the middle when the center flies to the corner. It’s 5 guys moving together, but you have to credit the other team if they attach it well. The ball will move faster than any player. But we do a good job typically and why the zone has been so successful.
We just need to start recruiting players that can move faster than the ball.

No expectations and a 9pm game that isn't on TV. I bet we win since noone will see it.

Can't wait for the ladies game tonight that should be a great one and IS on TV!
Oh dear. :( I went to it and it was a debacle. But the fans were great!

simple solution: patience. We only have 4 more years.

SU has no chance at Chapel Hill. UNC has owned SU since the Orangemen moved to the ACC. I think it will be a repeat of the other games where their linebacker front line will push our beanpoles around and one of their guards will bomb 3's. I have that GERG era football feeling when it comes to this game. With the late start I can bail at halftime if it goes the way I think it will.
UR not a real fan

Yeah. JB says just mail it in boys.

I just hope there is a decent pace to the game, and we hit some early three's. This team plays a whole lot better once Buddy or Eli can hit one. Also I want another nasty drive and dunk by Marek.

Pace will be fine. Unfortunately, despite the faster pace being the better direction for our team much of the time, it's much more favorable for them. This could easily be a game where a 3 point game suddenly turns into a 14 pt one out of nowhere.

I get that, the same could be said about Duke too. All I know is that more often than not this season, while in the half court our offense grinds to a halt and is well, offensive.

Unfortunately, If we get run off the court, I'll be stuck there with 3 UNC alumn co-workers who will make me suffer to the final horn. Oddly, I have a good feeling about this one.

They just need to make shots, rebound well, make free throws and efficiently convert transition opportunities into points. It can happen.

It's Luke Maye's night to have. He operates in those soft spots of the zone, 12-15 feet out, and wide open spaces for easy put backs. The ball seems to find him. Look for career highs in points and rebounds for the man tonight.

It can. But it’s alot to ask.

Anything can happen in a college basketball game. I think we beat UNC 3 out of 10 times at home and maybe 2 out of 10 times on the road.

It's sad that playing at home is only worth one extra win.
