Your concern was well-founded, a flat start wouldn't have surprised me at all.

I'll throw out a h0t take: it's easier for the kids to get up for an up-tempo game against a team like UNC. Way more likely that they'd be flat against VPI or someone like that.

From my original post the UNC bigs outmuscling the SU frontline for a huge rebounding edge: check. The rando going for a sick game: check. The only thing I didn't mention was the Swofford referee edge.

Going forward to the Wake game, I fear a flat start. SU is coming off the emotion of Duke and UNC back to back. Now they get a road game starting at Noon in a half empty arena vs. a bad Wake team. Add in the fact that this SU team more often than not has suffered from slow starts, I fear too many signs pointing to SU down 10-2 at the first media timeout.
