No need for some people to call for my scalp, but I do apologize if I caused any undue stress in some people's lives. But, I feel good that a bunch of people found it humorous, as that was my only intention.

The portal is bigger and (not) better than ever. As some have said, basically every player is in the portal, until they say they are not. I am bullish on Kline and Company, and feel confident that they will be able to fill needed holes on this team.

But, because of Cuse's recent past, I believe there will be some overpayments, like we learned from Jesse Edwards and from Eddie Lampkin. Let's hope the pot is bigger, as advertised, and the staff can surround our overpaid center to be, with better talent.

But, in the mean time, everyone hang tough. And stay away from the board if you have serious heart issues. This portal is no joke.

Lampkin wasn’t overpaid here based on his performance. He shot 60% from the field, averaged in 30 minutes, 11.5 points and 9.6 rebounds/game. He even was 40% from 3 being 2 for 5 for the season. Almost a double double average this year. He was our most efficient offensive player for sure. He wasn’t a rim protector but that had to be expected, since he never was. The one category for the season SU did well in was rebounding, averaging 4 more rebounds a game than our opponents and Eddie is the main reason.

Not overpaid, per se, but was he overpaid as a percentage of money to spend. Eddie "ate up" a big part of the NIL funds. I'm not saying it wasn't justified, but if you are paying a lot of money for your center, you still need to surround him with others. Many will argue if the other portal players were worth their pay and if Cuse could have done better with the same money or if a perceived lack of funds, hurt overall.

Actually, yes. I'm cautiously optimistic that if we can get one or two real shooters in the portal that this could be a viable roster.
