I get the angst

Well stated.

Yesterday left me disappointed, not even angry. The three things that made me angry: 1) the end of game punt, 2) the refs perhaps racist (sorry) call on Dino and 3) mental errors in the form of Taj drop/fumble and the illegal formations.

If we beat Liberty, it's all good. 3-1. But #3 combined with crappy O makes that seem unlikely. But not impossible by any stretch.
I posted the same thought about the refs in the game thread. Probably not true but the circumstances surrounding Babers getting that technical and not Schiano make one wonder.

We've been able to say this for several losses the last 3 seasons and yet, nothing seems to change. How does a team get 3 or 4 illegal formations in the same game (multiple times on punts???)? How does a 5th year QB still not go through his progressions faster or be able to keep a pass close enough to in bounds to give a WIDE open WR a chance at making a catch? Why can't we get a qb who understands down and distance, time remaining and game score?
What has me most down about the program is that so many of our losses look strikingly similar in year 6.
Well here is one of the “Illegal Punt Formations” for “more than four players in the backfield.” You tell me.

I was so-o-o-o thinking of you when I wrote that, Mr. Handy Man… :p
you are su-u-u-ch a liar, Mr. Holds Excrement in his Hand

if its one its the whole line.. most of the time its the head must be about where the centers waist is in college.. all it would take is the end looking at the ref though to clean it up

If, as most people seem to think , we won the first game were the better team yesterday, maybe we aren't in as bad shape as some are saying?

What?

Your record shows you how good you are or not.

We played two bottom 50 teams and are 1-1.

September isn’t the time for moral victories. Save that for covering the spread on a road ACC game.

But several of the issues that derailed the team are fixable.

the D is fine so far,. Had they gotten the TOs instead of Rutgers getting the 3 we probably win the game by 20. had we gotten the refs calls instead of Rutgers we probably win by 20..

The offense is a mess but not completely broken. I think we can clean up the self inflicted wounds and that helps.. dont start every drive with 80 yds to go.,

We were the better team and lost. it happens.. But it took like 10 bad things to make it happen.. We could have just truly sucked all over .

Its like writing a term paper and the first draft gets all red-marked. doesnt mean you still cant that B- you wanted..
Uuuhhggggg...really? Dino is not the guy. He is not a P5 coach and it has been proven over and over. If not for Dungey Dino would have hopefully been fired by now. Unfortunately, SU fans have to suffer through more of his boneheaded play calling, substitutions and time management debacles.

I've never used the term 'moral victory' and am not sure Rutgers is bottom 50, off of what they did last year, with three Big Ten road victories.

I'm just noting several posts that assert that we were the better team. I'm not sure we were but if we were, maybe things aren't quite as gloomy as they appear.

You mean we won't score 30 ppg this year?

We do stink but I think we can be mediocre. We aren't far. It all starts IMO with who comes out at QB for Albany.

I said before the season that we had to be mediocre, just competitive, four wins as the floor.

We have to beat Liberty and at least 1 ACC to do that.

Not sure we are going to be able to do that, to be honest.

We have a head coach who is clueless, broken and no longer seems to play to win. He has no fire left.

He gone.
