I don't have too much to say or add to the discussion. Obviously, I'm as repulsed as everyone else is but I just didn't want to jump the gun. In discussions with my friends, I've basically said that I'm waiting for all the facts to come out but ESPN did a lousy job in the way they presented the story.

I will say that this has obviously reached critical mass. I saw a friend Friday night who lives in North Carolina now. I had just come back from MSG and he greeted me with a quick hello and said, "so you went to see your beloved Orange...that team that's had a child molester on its staff." Very nice.

I'm really not sure what JB is going to say in his statement. He's certainly not the type to backtrack and retract a statement, so I'd be shocked if he does that. I think he'll say something much more vague and vanilla than most of us would probably want... he'll say something to the effect of: "In light of the recent developments in the investigation I fully support the trustees' (or NC's) decision tonight to terminate Bernie Fine. I again reiterate that nobody at SU, including myself, were ever aware of any improper or illegal behavior by Bernie Fine. I'll reserve further comments until the investigation is complete." He won't apologize.

IMO JB will not be fired and he won't resign. I think the stress will get to JB and this may shorten his career. My prediction is next year will be his last.

I think putting words in JB's mouth at this time is pretty much a useless exercise. Everyone would be better off to wait for all the facts to come out before weighing in on what Jimmy might/ should say. I can only imagine the tumultuous emotions he must be feeling at this time. I've always admired the way he has carried himself and represented the program and I feel confident that he will do/ say the appropriate thing at the appropriate time. I just keep him and the program in my prayers at this time.

I hope you asked him if he can vouch for all of them members of the staff of his beloved Tar Heels, because you really just don't know what dirty secrets people might be hiding. I also hope you told him to -off.

With friends like that, who needs enemies.!;)

He's not a Tar Heel fan. He works at Clemson as a campus minister (not a real minister but he works with the college kids at Clemson similar to a youth minister for hugh school kids) at the Catholic church at Clemson (yes, the irony of him working in a Catholic church is not lost on me.) He actually said an opening prayer at a Clemson football game this year and last year.
