I'm sorta with you but it does give you a free safety- we did have someone there when ball arrived to knock it away. I'll trust that JB knows what he's doing. It was interesting to see that we were inviting them to throw it on their side of the court and take our chances with a heave- a no brainer I guess but interesting to see.

If the guy guarding the inbound tips the ball, the clock starts, and there's little to no chance a shot even gets off. Agreed, need to guard that.

If you don't guard the out of inbounds, you have 5 guarding 4. 'Ville needed to inbound the ball over half court to even have a chance. On the other hand, it was a dead ball situation, meaning they could not run the base line. Most coaches would pressure that inbound pass.
