I have been watching Syracuse Soccer for over 40 years. I have been at more soccer games
than football and basketball games combined over that time. Well, to start this season, Syracuse
soccer was pretty bad. Losses to UConn and Duquesne and a tie to New Haven who are new
to D-1. Ugh. As the season as wore on, they have got a lot better. 4 straight wins. All shutouts.
Who is to say that the football team couldn't turn things around the same way? I am not
saying we will do it but you never see it happening, until it happens.

Syracuse soccer doesn’t have Rickie Collins on their team tbf

No Because he plays football. Look, I know the idea that people can get better might have
been a concept you couldn't grasp but it happens. We had a kid that had trouble getting in to games for a
time in 1981 because he wasn't playing well. He was the Big East most outstanding player in the Big
East tournament at the end of that year. Kids sometimes turn things around. I have no idea if Collins can do that. Haven't seen any reason to think he will. But I wouldn't just write it off. Plus, who knows who will play QB for us over the rest of the season.

I doubt we’ll see a QB change

You just know it’s super likely to happen for Rickie,
when you have to reference an occasion from another sport and 44 years ago. 😉

QB is tough. Arizona State and Texas Tech are both having issues with bad backups. We will see how Penn State looks. Oklahoma played a guy 2 weeks post surgery. We kind of have to assume Fran knows what he is doing. He is not going to lose on purpose. Not a good career move.

Don't forget, if we lose out, we do get the top pick in the draft

Tough? It’s been like sleeping with Sydney Sweeney only to wake up from a dream and find out it was Marjorie Greene.

QB is an intensely difficult position to play mentally.

Each time you move up in level, the complexity the defenses you have to read to run the correct play increases significantly.

Some guys figure it out quickly, some take a while.

The backup QB is always the most popular guy in town...

It isn't at all impossible Collins just went through the steepest part of his learning curve and is about to become a player.

If that happens, everybody else on the team, players and coaching staff, will suddenly look a lot better.
