I know Kevin Long is a quality hitting coach but in my observstion of

regarding Martin is that if he opened his stance a little bit he could see the ball better. I think he doesn't always pick up the ball well causing some bad swings. He will probably now go on a fantastic hitting streak and bring his average up to respectable level. So far this is the second year in a row that the Yanks had no production offensively from their catcher.

You are tough. Martin hit .237 with 18 hr and 65 RBI in only 476 plate appearances. That isn't bad for a good defensive catcher. In fact he was 11th in Weighted Runs Created for catchers in all of MLB.
