"Syracuse has opened Big East play against Rutgers six times and has won all six meetings. The last time the Orange faced Rutgers to open league play was in 2004. Syracuse won that game, 41-31. On the flip side, Rutgers is 6-14 in Big East openers, including a 3-7 mark under head coach Greg Schiano. In Big East openers on the road, the Scarlet Knights are 1-7 all-time, 1-4 under Schiano. The lone road victory in a league opener for the Scarlet Knights came in 2006 at USF (22-20).

Home sweet Dome: Syracuse went 2-4 last year at home, with its only wins against two FCS opponents. This year, the Orange are 3-0. It’s the first time the Orange has started 3-0 at the Dome since 2001 when it posted a 6-0 home mark on its way to a 10-3 overall record and an appearance in the Insight.com Bowl."

I laugh at

Rutgers has put the pressure on the opposition in 2011 as the Scarlet Knights rank third nationally in sacks per game (4.0). They trail only Texas A&M (4.67 per game) and Stanford (4.33 per game) in sacks.

The truth is Rutgers has 12 sacks this year, 9 of which came against the 244th rated team in America out of 247 FCS playing teams, the lowly North Carolina Central Eagles.

The truth will set you free Shady!

9, 0 against UNC, 3 against Ohio.

Some other numbers. 7.4 yds per play allowed against UNC and Ohio. UNC completed 77%(!) of its passes, Ohio 64%. Ave yds allowed the last two games, 306 passing, 9.8 yds per attempt, 14 yds per reception. In the last two games they gave up 4.6 and 4.3 ypc.

On offense they gained 1(!) yd against UNC on 30 carries. Against Ohio they ran 43 times for 159, 3.7 per. Passing the last two games they are ave yds passing 247 on 41 attempts, 57% completion, 6 yds per attempt, 10.5 yds per reception.

Thanks for peeling away another layer of the myth that Shady has built. Save for some former SU recruits he'd be selling used cars in Hackensack.
