And I'm just not sure I can do this anymore. I care way too much about Syracuse sports, to the point where it literally makes my day or night stink when I watch them play and coach poorly. I shouldn't care this much, because I end up being in a bad mood the rest of the day or the rest of the weekend.

It doesn't help when nothing the team or the coaching staff does engenders any type of confidence that they will be able to figure this out. I think I may just turn the game off, calm down, and watch a good movie for the rest of the night.

And yes, I'm writing this because I somehow think that if I do the above things, the team will miraculously come back and win the game. I will be pissed that I missed it but psyched that they won. Being a fan of a team that has been borderline average to below average for the last 13 years is taking decades off my life.

I am insane, and I love Syracuse football. Who's with me?

Honestly, tonight is hitting me. Yes, Hunt stinks. The coaching stinks. Etc Etc.

But there are bigger, deeper problems at play here. The stadium is half empty. There is no atmosphere, nor is there at any of our home games. Everything about this game screams "small time."

Screw new QB or new coach. It may be time for a new AD.

My wife abandoned me at halftime and said "I can't be around this environment."

Me neither.

I am so very much right there with ya. I can't do this anymore.

Im tired of 6-6 teams being the measuring stick.
I'm tired of double digit losses to bad teams.
I'm tired of blowout losses to good teams.
I'm tired of spin
I'm tired of "hardnosed" and "branding"
I'm simply tired of this mediocre program.

I just don't have the emotional energy to give to this program anymore.

My wife isn't allowed to be in the room at this point during Syracuse games. She's pretty much cool with that.

I'm going to be sent to an early grave by this Syracuse football program. My god, it's so frustrating.

Thank God I married a Texas A&M Aggie. It's made weekends so much more bearable the last few years.

I am 35. I just want them to be good- like top 25- once before I die.

At this point, I honestly do not believe we'll ever return to the top 25 at any point during the rest of my life. I'm 38.

Well they already have been, but I understand you probably mean "again." And I agree.

I have been following this team for 34 yrs and this year is tough. I see no hope for return to excellence. You know it is bad when you hope for a return to mediocrity. Yes the recruiting s average and the coaching staff was depleted when Marrone left for Buffalo. So maybe I should have more patience. But this team has sucked for like 10 yrs.

I won't quit though. I will still follow them and maybe someday they will be able to put together a season of 6-7 wins (yeah!) to get my enthusiasm back up.

I actually turned the game off at halftime. I snuck a peek in third only to see a couple more penalties and turned it off for good in favor of Netflix.

I feel dirty not watching but miserable when I do watch. The bad times seem to be outweighing the good.

Keep the faith Nails. The 90s and late 80s were a blast. Sometimes those memories are the only thing that keep me going when I watch what's happening now.

I do. I'm 25. Other than the second half of that last Nassib year, it's been beyond brutal for about 13 years for me now.
If my best friend wasn't a die-hard Michigan State fan that rubbed off on me, I don't know what I'd do watching only Syracuse football on a week-to-week basis. I love this program and I love my alma mater, but tonight was make or break for this season. The result hurt, but the way it happened hurt way more.

And to top it all off, I'm a Jets fan. I don't think it's actually possible to be good at offense after watching these two teams.

I only watch Syracuse football, really, in terms of college football. It's...a dismal experience, to say the least.

Honestly, if it wasn't for the fact that I've got a 3 year old who gives me hugs every time Syracuse loses I'd have shot someone by now. I'm only half kidding there.

I make out with liquor on nights like tonight. In the future I will pass on my Syracuse fandom to my children, but for now booze will do.
