I love my hometown, I love my school, and I love football...

Honestly, tonight is hitting me. Yes, Hunt stinks. The coaching stinks. Etc Etc.

But there are bigger, deeper problems at play here. The stadium is half empty. There is no atmosphere, nor is there at any of our home games. Everything about this game screams "small time."

Screw new QB or new coach. It may be time for a new AD.
The stadium is half empty and there is no atmosphere because of the play on the field. We've been bowling recently but they're bottom tier bowl games and even then we start off 0-2 or get blown out by anyone remotely above average.

I want to cut ties with this staff ASAP because I fear they are going the wrong direction.

We need to actually pony up cash and bring in a legit staff to revamp this whole thing.

I admire and pity you guys at the same time. I bailed emotionally on the program a good ten years ago. Not that they're not my college team still but the Bills suckage has been more than enough to ruin my football weekends.

I make out with liquor on nights like tonight. In the future I will pass on my Syracuse fandom to my children, but for now booze will do.
I'll pass on my fandom to my son as well. And since I live in Texas and my son will wind up being around 6-2 or 6-3, there's at least an outside chance he winds up as a big time QB recruit so if that happens, I'm going to do everything in my power to have him lining up under center for the Orange in about 16 years.

Not sure man. Have we sold out within the last decade? Its more than just the product on the field.

It's mostly the on field product, though. Honestly, the only team in the last decade that was actually exciting to watch was the 2012 team.

Its hard to get anyone committed to this program when the fan support is so weak. Its not the 90s anymore. Its a different world. A world that Syracuse football is failing to compete in.

The fans show up when there's momentum. We had a great crowd for Nova. For Clemson. Every time we have a great crowd we literally s*** ourselves,

Maybe the answer is to play our home home games at Coyne

Been a fan for over 45 years. I've seen worse than this but the last few years, I thought maybe I'd seen the last of this kind of crap.

do you think the stadium would empty if we had a product, were winning,??? no one would really care what unis we wore, there would be fans in the seats, atmosphere would be great. in syracuse, historically, fans don't come if you do not win. ask the old nats, chiefs, etc. we have to win to create the atmosphere we want. we are not michigan, psu or any other big school where people live die with the team, come to games no matter what. except for a minority core of loyal fans, syracusans don care that much unless we win --- we all know that.

been a fan longer than that, other than grob years, the saddest time for was the last yrs of ben s. poor guy had no tools to work with, no facillities, could not recruit because of that. it was like watching demise of old friend. i have gone to my last game this year. i had split seasons with my son this year 250 bucks each instead my old tickets. i will not make the trip from bethlehem pa anymore as it is to painful.drove back last nite with my son after the game in almost total silence, which spoke a louder message to me, that i was not angry, just very sad, hoodwinked, and after all these years way over invested.the bright side was when we got home at 1:30 am my new grand daughter was awake (4 mos old) she was smiling, talking the baby talk and very happy---it dawned on me that ALL IS WELL.

And I'm just not sure I can do this anymore. I care way too much about Syracuse sports, to the point where it literally makes my day or night stink when I watch them play and coach poorly. I shouldn't care this much, because I end up being in a bad mood the rest of the day or the rest of the weekend.

It doesn't help when nothing the team or the coaching staff does engenders any type of confidence that they will be able to figure this out. I think I may just turn the game off, calm down, and watch a good movie for the rest of the night.

And yes, I'm writing this because I somehow think that if I do the above things, the team will miraculously come back and win the game. I will be pissed that I missed it but psyched that they won. Being a fan of a team that has been borderline average to below average for the last 13 years is taking decades off my life.

I am insane, and I love Syracuse football. Who's with me?
Drink more, it helps me.
