I May Have Found a Better Way to Unsubscribe

from unwanted text messages. I have previously registered my cell phone on the National Do Not Call Registry, but I still get pesky pseudo political messages. e.g. "HAPPENING NOW: CUTS to Medicare Advantage? Tell Washington to keep their HANDS OFF!,,,,,"

So I responded "-- Off" and I got a quick "You have successfully unsubscribed." message in return.
