I really hope we slaughter Michigan

I think that what rubs me wrong, is that both Indiana and Michigan fans have acted like they've got "bluer" blood than us. Like their programs are always better - despite far less consistency than us. It's not even close.

Don't mistake a good year to two for some sort of dynasty. Also - for both teams, we've been better than you the past 3-4 years.

My encounter tonight, having dinner at a sports bar, when a random Michigan fan walks by:

--Guy walks past me, notices I'm wearing a Syracuse sweatshirt, and stops at my table to talk unsolicited smack:

--Smarmy Michigan fan: "You don't really think you have a chance this weekend, do you?"

--Me: "Of course I think we have a chance! Are you saying that you don't think there's even a chance Syracuse will win?"

--Smary Michigan fan looks at me with stunned incredulity, makes a scrunched up face, and shakes his head no.

--Me: "Well, get ready to be sent home early." Gesturing toward the big screen TV, where they are showing some Michigan female competing in the three point shooting contest: "Be prepared for this to be the hightlight of your Wolverine weekend."

I'm tired of these jerkoffs--can't wait to blow these 'ers out on Saturday--I've had enough of their B1G britches, and their over-inflated sense of entitlement. Let the beatdown commence!

I grew up in Syracuse - huge bball fan but also grew up a huge Michigan football fan for complicated reasons. I never understood why people hated the Michigan fanbase so much but after this week of buildup, I'm starting to get it. I'm over on their premium At their request, this network is being blocked from this site. board and while there are some level headed posters there who understand the challenges opposing teams bring, 90% of them are just so cocky... about everything. It's really pretty unreadable.

I'm sure you're not very fond of OSU fans, correct? OSU fans only think people hate them because of jealousy, it's pretty much the same thing.

Sounds about right, except OSU has actually been good at sports recently. Both fanbases are pretty similar to be honest, win a few games and every one and their grandmother thinks their school is the best thing to happen since the moon landing.

I love the last part about the three-point shootout!

Don't take any prisioners, RF!

Enjoy the moment, brother.

What's the joke, no one from Michigan actually went to Michigan?

Anyway, we're gonna kick their ass too.

My family dynamic is different. There is no one in my family I wouldn.t talk trash to. Including my grandfather... Who is the king of trash talk. Its all in good fun.

I hear ya. These particular cousins, and myself, are particularly laid back. We also don't talk a lot, so don't have much time for trash talking. It does sound like fun, and obviously I'm certainly not opposed to it.

My coworker is being chippy this morning, so I should step it up. He knows I'm going to Atlanta, and is trying to goad me into some bad mojo.

I didn't realize unprovoked razzing of family & friends was a competitive sport, and somehow related to the teams success.
Yeah, I never talk right after a tournament game to any serious fan of the team that lost. That's on the 'just not right' list, and it always makes me think less (seriously) of anyone who does it to me.

American Exceptionalism is dead. Oh Lord

;)

I told my brother-in-law that The Ohio State refs played a good game last year and he was pretty ticked. We still can't talk about that game.
