I agree the team doesn’t give up and now of our offense has a true identity and toughness too it and it matches our defense win or lose it’s a team I can get behind.

They can lose every remaining game. They could also win them. I'm not scared of anybody we have to play but we might well be underdogs in every game.

i feel like mid game we literally took a step forward in terms of offense. We know what our defense gives us, they’re solid. But, if we can have our second half offense from yesterday translate to the rest of year…. We are going to win some games. I expect us to beat WF or Clemson at home, I just feel like we are ready to step forward now knowing what our identity is on O.

I am telling you what, that Shrader kid has me intrigued and I am ready to see what he can do here on out. He is making me want to watch more games. It was evident how much better he looked second half, and I’m excited to see if he brings it from the junk next game. He has some of that “it” factor to him I think.

He also has a 'nope' factor when it comes to passes of more than 20 yards in the air. I think he's 0 for 11 on them now. We recruited wide receivers to catch those balls. I don't think it's over between Garrett and Tommy. if we fall significantly behind , we're going to have to go to the full passing game.

I do like what he, Tucker and Elmore can give us on the ground, though. And we did score 30 points in 36 minutes when we mixed that with a short passing game.

Sunday Morning Ramble
Little boy sports heart hurt by this loss. Big boy strategic heart embracing this capable team whose newfound swagger portends competitiveness, perseverance and and and...well you can just watch them now and know they can make something happen at critical times. Unlike before when every 3rd and long might as well have been a punt. Pre-Liberty you watched the game through barely separated fingers. It was gloomy.

But now...Put it this way: Wouldn't you love to play Rutgers?
I think we're getting an identity and the team is sensing that. Shrader is the catalyst. He can make things happen in spite of the sometimes spotty coaching. His brawn and his beard speaks volumes.
With this learning/performance curve the team is evincing, heck, I wouldn't want to play us now.

The breaks will come our way...at some point.

*Tucker had a mediocre game and still flashed for 100+ yds and 4.2 ypc. Good sign.
*Shrader's confidence will only grow now that he's settled in. That's worth 5 plays a game he won't screw up for lack of playing time/self-assuredness. He can improvise. He knows he's the man now. He ain't coming out. Just an extrapolation on my part, but if that's a 4th quarter pass to Mang in the end zone instead of being a first half pass...he doesn't over throw it.
*The D is active, opportunistic and occasionally vulnerable, but really well suited for its personnel.
*So much more to ramble on about. I just hope there's a snowball's chance in hell of making a bowl game , crushing it on the recruiting trail and imbuing these coaches with ample and more effective game smarts. That's it Santa. Make it so.

Tucker didn't have a mediocre game. Everybody knows about him and the defense is going to key on him in every game. That's why we need to be balanced to open things up for him. That was a great game against that defense.
