its all about muscle endurance baby!!!

Exactly. Crossfit can give people great results, but its been proven to be one of the most dangerous forms of workout ever.So - pretty much the opposite of what the vast majority of CrossFitters actually do?
Cocaine does the pushups for you...if you are doing it right.I'm more of a cocaine and push ups guy.
Amen

Totally. Im not worried about our new staff training our guys at all. Im just trashing the crossfit community that ignores their stupid methods haha.True, but these guys are also highly qualified conditioners, trainers and coaches. Cross Fit coaches not so much. You can get a license next to the scratch offs and synthetic marijuana at the gas station. Big difference. Many Cross fit people get injured because many of the people teaching it are way underqualified and the people taking the classes aren't smart enough to know when enough is enough and also doing way too much way too soon. Dumb and dumber actually.
I hate crossfit btw and you wouldn't catch me in one of those places in a million years. No way. I would get injured in 1st 5 minutes. I see what these guys are doing as more functional training, less beefcake lifting.
Also I am sure their training sessions are up tempo and faster than what people are use to. I think the kids that are power lifting and really focused on MAX weights, etc will have to adjust
Agree 100%Totally. Im not worried about our new staff training our guys at all. Im just trashing the crossfit community that ignores their stupid methods haha.
Can someone briefly explain to me how you get injured and what the injuries are?
People push limits that muscles can't handle. People lift things they aren't capable of lifting and fall/break bones/become paralyzed etc. It's really the dumbest thing ever. Do some people get results... SURE.

no not at all, injuries happen everywhere.. its when changing philosophies and "how" you do it when injuries mostly happen. The only reason Cross Fit has had a lot of injuries is because its a "newer" way of training your body. over time it will all even out and I would expect our guys to be fine with trained professionals there teaching along the way...Didn't a RB at USC almost kill himself bench pressing. I seem to remember power lifters in competition have broken legs and arms and dislocations.
Are you telling me people haven't wrecked their backs doing traditional weight lifting?

I also remember reading a report where some study was being done over a 60 day period recording progress of people over a 60-90 day period of crossfit workout and that 80% of them reported injuries after 30 days and did not complete the study. People get HURT doing all sorts of stuff but I think there is data backing up the claim that crossfit is getting people hurt at an alarming rate. ( too lazy too look for all the back up but I am quite positive it is there) If people prove this wrong than great but I know the ESPN report is out there for sure, some of these people are waaay over the top with it. Crossfit used for 1A athletes trained by professionals- NO ISSUE. mom and dad working out 3-4 days a week trained by hacks in some strip mall in East Syracuse with a months a weeks worth of training probably not so good. And again injuries happen all the time doing all sorts of stuff, we get it
I've been doing Crossfit since August, my wife since last February, and no injuries for either of us or anyone at the gym. Maybe we have good trainers or no meatheads who want to do more weight than they can handle. Sure people will tweak a hamstring here or there like any other sport or exercise training, but no INJURIES. Its all about doing the exercises the correct way and our trainers wont let you crank up the weight unless you can show the correct form.Didn't ESPN run a report a few months to a year ago about the alarming injury rate at these cross fit gyms popping up all over which basically showed what a joke it is the cert process that allows these instructors to be become certified overnight? Long read but a good one. It very much underlines what has been posted here by others, gotta start small with technique, work your way from there.Interesting read, just found it more to convince myself that I wasn't crazy... I don't mean to harp on it but there are a lot of people with a lot of questions about long term setbacks and like I said I have done quite a few ultra marathons and a few ironmans, I am sure I flucked myself up because of it too but I didn't need some coach to tell me that or convince me that a 50 mile run through the woods is actually good for you, at least I knew it was stupid
