First, our offense looks like it will be better this year than last. We had to rely completely on offense inside 15 ft yesterday. Last year in games like that our O really bogged down. Yesterday, the team scored every time it needed to.
Expanding the court beyond the 3 pt line (ya know like in every other game we'll play in this year), I think will really make our O difficult to stop. We've shown we have a drive oriented offense that is capable. Stick Cooney, or JS on the 3 pt line while our PG drives the hoop, and that will create some significant problems for the opponent.
Second, Steve Fisher must not be big into in-game adjustments. As I saw in another thread, why in the world did he let his defenders even touch the 3 pt line in the second half? We didn't take a single shot beyond 15 ft the whole second half. Most were probably within 8 ft. They should have had every defender in the lane, with only token pressure out to about 10 ft. from the hoop on the wings.
