I think there is a little over reaction

They're an exceptionally athletic, long team, but how will they do against solid competition? And weren't we talking about back to the basket play? that was what my response was to. Jury is out on how well those guys play back to the basket.

In regards to how good they are, they haven't played anyone at all. Their only BCS game was vs. Northwestern, who they blew out, but Northwestern is no powerhouse. I'd like to see them vs. TAMU or KU and we'll get a much better representation of how well they play.

Perry Jones does play back to the basket, that's why I'm confused as to how the jury is out on anything about him.

The one knock on Perry Jones was always his lack of ability in his back-to-the-basket play and his willingness to stay out on the perimeter. I realize he has been a great scorer for Baylor this year, and he's using his back to the basket game more this year than he did last year, but I'm just waiting for him to play well with his back to the basket against teams that aren't South Carolina State. I don't think anyone would consider him a "back to the basket player", though.

As far as Baylor as a team goes, they won a closer than the score indicated game vs. a fringe top-25 team in SDSU, being up 1 with 1:30 to play. It was their only test of the season. They'll be there in the end based on athleticism and raw talent, they just need to get over that hump. This year could be the year if they can put it all together, if they can find enough shots for their 4 stars

Bottom line to me is MCW has ability, he plays smart and doesn't throw up too many wild shots. (Maybe we haven't seen enough yet to see a wild side) He is the only guy on the team trying to feed the post.

If we could get him some more run and get him comfortable with pressure ball handling. I think the team could get to the next level by March. If not its going to be a terrible half court team on most nights IMO.

Every good play is always followed by a stupid selfish play or ill advised shot. Has been for 2.5 years, maybe we'll see a maturation process but we haven't seen it yet. You all know who I'm talking about.
