Agreed, the kid is talented but will take some beat downs this year for sure but lets hope it isn't versus Wake and some of the bigger names on the schedule
GOTTA beat Wake.

he was.
and then covering it up and not letting anyone ever see itOne of his TDs the WR should get 100% of the credit. it was a diving catch on a 45 yard throw - better catch than the one Cornelius dropped.
Dungey's numbers could've been better if Cornelius makes a catch. The overthrow was on Dungey; that's not impressive. He makes the throw then...
UVA is on our schedule most pundits predict us losing to them.
Dungey played good and has great potential. I don't like using the word impressive for him just yet.
10-17 for 114 yards and 2 TDs. If he' goes 28-35 and 351 against anyone else on the schedule we'll be building a statue.
how dare you quote game script!I think what's impressive is that Dungey wasn't expected to play until mop up duty, was not practicing to be the starter, and still looked pretty poised and would have had even better numbers if not for a couple blatant drops. Plus, obviously he didn't get the same chance to sling it because we got up big early and just ran the ball down their throats.
GOTTA beat Wake.
PhatOrange said:the Syracuse beat writers. This is NOT a diss on Dungey. He played well but I think it sets false expectations. UCLA started a true frosh at QB against Virginia. His performance was impressive, going 28 of 35 for 351 yards and 3 TD’s, 0 ints. 12 different receivers caught a ball. That's impressive.

Better than saying he absolutely $ucked. I'll take a true frosh qb getting props any day, versus the alternative!the Syracuse beat writers. This is NOT a diss on Dungey. He played well but I think it sets false expectations.

I agree at this point in time he appears to be a weak link.Last week was the first game of the 2016 season.
This is a development year. This year the program has the ability to build around young skill position guys and develop them for the following three seasons.
And that's why Joe Adam is on the clock. If OL replacements aren't prepared for next year a golden opportunity for a big leap in this program will be wasted.
Man, these Syracuse beat writers. Always such biased homers. I know this board always says they wished the writers were more balanced and measured with their takes, but now I really see it.
hey, he now has a half and all week to practice.Like the beat writers my headline was simply click bait.
The UCLA kid got most of the 1st team snaps in practice. Dungey's getting those extra reps going forward should help his development.
That said, Rosen certainly had a nice debut.
He's better than Hunt good.PhatOrange said:the Syracuse beat writers. This is NOT a diss on Dungey. He played well but I think it sets false expectations. While that can certainly be true - we could also say...if Erv doesn't make a nice 1 handed grab and do all the work, he's 9-17, 1 TD for roughly 85 yards. I thought Dungey was good, but I'm not going to form a real opinion until after the next 2 games. I sure hope he's everything we think he can be, but it's too small a sample size to get too excited yet.
the last time 'impressive' was thrown around here and in print regarding a Syracuse QB...the QBs name was Long.
just sayin...
Longs play vs FSU (#1) on short notice with a new OC was impressive.
Dungey may well fall short - but I think his mental game and raw tools (size, touch on throws, running ability) all make him a more intriguing guy than anyone on the roster since Nassib.
at long's size you better be incredibly fast, but he isn'tI expect Dungey to play a lot like Long did last year but I think Dungey has more tools than Long does to rely on. Quicker release, much stronger arm, he is 2-3" taller and while slight he's certainly bigger than Long
