Fact remains though that Ok St loses to FSU, Texas Tech lost to Arkansas, KSU lost to Auburn, West Virginia lost to Alabama and Texas lost to UCLA and BYU. Baylor and TCU have no marquee OCC victories. I just don't think a conference with that OOC resume deserves to have 2 teams in a 4 team playoff which is a very realistic possibility at this point.
See I like your points and I think you and I could go round and round and both be right in the arguements we're making.
I would rather have teams from a conference that dared to schedule those games vs teams that scheduleding sure wins. Bama OOC is WVU (in Atlanta), Florida Atlantic, Southern Miss, and Western Carolina. That looks a lot like a Cuse basketball OOC schedule that gets us blasted by the media every year. Bama's only marquee win is against an Mississippi State team who is dreadfully over ranked with an OOC of Southern Miss, UAB, South Alabama, and UT Martin. They are set to play a Mizzou team in the SEC championship game who lost the only P5 OOC game they scheduled at home to Indiana.
Where's the intent to prove your conference is the best in any of that? Instead they schedule for gaudy records which they know the pollsters will drool over. What would the pollsters do with FSU right now if they had scheduled WVU (in Tampa), Florida Atlantic, Southern Miss, and Western Carolina?
