Find somebody who was canned for some irrelevant personal issue, like Petrino's affair, and offer him.
That would legit be the best thing in the world. Ever.Dude, enough with the logic and the reality check, the board is on a roll.
You are killing the mojo.

They have fallen off since then, but the effects of his work are still resonating there, as I think their days of being a complete doormat are gone.
Okay, just to be clear, you are saying that we should fire a coach in his second year that has not had a losing season yet? We would become a bigger joke than we are now. Oh, and those N.D. guys have not been reinstated yet.No, I've been skeptical of MacDonald from the beginning.
Yes seriously. What did he do at rutgirls that impressed you? That one season 8 years ago? I don't care what they were before he got there. He had middling teams that sometimes went to middling bowls. His record OOC was vet inflated by playing the worst OOC schedule almost every year. I guess the last 3 seasons finishing 4th, 8th and 4th impressed? If all we want to do is stay a middling D1 program, then maybe you bring someone in like that. But I'd prefer to become a top 25 team or something close to that.
5-1 in bowl games which SU seems to value so much. He was a very good coach there.Yes seriously. What did he do at rutgirls that impressed you? That one season 8 years ago? they did that with current octhey need to hire a young up and coming offensive genius and live with the fact that he'll use SU as a stepping stone.
they did that with current oc
What do you actually think an "agreement in principle is"? A letter if intent? Good luck at enforcing it. The whole idea is a non-starter. First of all, if we fired HCSS now who would want the job. Two years and playing with Marrone's players? After a bowl and good showing in the ACC. This is just silly stuff.People sign agreements in principal all the time, especially in hiring situations.

I would not want Greg for those reasons you just named but mediocrity would look good to me about now.Crap bowls. We're 3-0 in the same garbage. He never won a thing in the BE. He wouldn't get us anymore in the ACC than we are now. A middling .500 team. Not sure why some of you want to settle for mediocrity.
Do you realize what he brought them from?? Jeez...Crap bowls. We're 3-0 in the same garbage. He never won a thing in the BE. He wouldn't get us anymore in the ACC than we are now. A middling .500 team. Not sure why some of you want to settle for mediocrity.
It's a thought, but Kiffen got fired for being a lousy football coach. There's got to be somebody out there who is out of a job for some personal peccadillo.
What he brought them from means nothing. It's what they became. Nothing special and a middling program.
