If I was HCSS...

I've heard that this has been addressed. It's tough to say no comment during a media session, but there has been steps taken when dealing with the PS (mostly Cohen though).

Mink is a tool, as well. They both suck. Shafer and the team ought to give interviews only to local TV and the Daily Orange.

Of the 3 I think Mink is the most tolerable. Carlson is a bum too. He was criticizing fans last night for getting on Allen about looking frustrated in his interview that aired although his colleague stated the same thing in the links headline. Wise a$$ too

I believe that is now the players option, and if they so chose to the interview questions need to be vetted.

To be clear I was always hoping Hunt would win the competition. That said, I don't see the point in dumping on Allen. What is the point of asking someone in that position what he feels about [fill in the disappointment, tragedy etc]. Cohen, pull your head out of your butt.

Allen played poorly - so what? He tried his best and he has the rest of his life ahead of him. I wish him nothing but the best.

I agree Mink is the most tolerable. It took me longer than some, but I've pretty much stopped going to the post standard for anything regarding SU football. I'm done with them.

Isn't the Daily Orange where they got these guys?

Allen still may be our quarterback this year. Hunt did well against an over-matched foe. If he's getting hit in the pocket by a big pass rush, we'll have to see how he does in face of adversity. Plus, not to jinx anyone, but injuries are also part of the game.

Drew Allen seems like a good kid. The competition is not necessarily over. It may be for now, but maybe not for the whole season. You just have to keep working hard in practice and be ready when the bell rings.

Mink used to write for Penn State last year. I don't know about his past before that.

At some point, if Hunt plays well, there will be no turning back. I would guess if he plays well in the next three games he will be it for the rest of the season, barring injury.

I agree. But I think that against Wagner, the more noticeable thing was that Allen did not do well in the first 3 drives against an over-matched opponent. Hunt doing well was good, but Allen not doing well taught us more.

Absolutely. Against NW everyone said Hunt played against the base defense or the 2nd team. Perhaps that was so, but Wagner is another matter as both played against the same defense and it was like we put a different team on the field. I am sure that is why HCSS scripted 3 and 3 and then decided he had seen enough and he left Hunt in there. It is inconceivable t me that circumstances would arise, injury aside, that would call for Allen to go in and save us. Does anyone on the planet think he is capable of doing that?
