Assuming you are smart enough to get into Stanford (a large assumption), there is no comparison between Palo Alto and Syracuse, either geographically, academically or in regard to contacts made for later in life.

Syracuse needs to look at all of stanfords recruits figure out which ones are highly interested in communications and sell them on the total package

Now, if you were using Toledo or Storrs or Rutgers or Louisville or NC State or Temple or BC or even Maryland, it would make more sense. You have to walk before you can run.
