If we want to go bowling

going to LSU/Miami/FSU in one year is something not many teams will ever attempt. thats a bunch of flying.
Fsu/Miami will never have Su/BC in the same year as road trips.

The thing that gives this offense fits is 4DL who can get to the passer and a good athletic secondary:

- Clemson
- FSU (usually, looked good vs Miami - mostly)

Team with beatable secondary, I think:
- Miami

Teams that won't have that:

- Louisville (D is kind of suspect.. Grantham DC is gone along with some NFL talent. Good LB's)
- WF (they are good on D - but not quite as talented, will be scheme/coach dependent)
- BC (same as Wake with even a step lower talent-wise, Landry excluded)

If these are the hypothetical probablities of beating each of the big 4 remaining games, then our chances of winning AT LEAST one of them as about 2/3 or 65%

If you combine that with the probablities of winning the other two games, then our overall chances of getting 3 additional wins this year is about 50%

Vs. Clemson 10%

At Miami 20%

At FSU 25%

At Louisville 33%

Vs Wake 80%

Vs BC 90%

ML just came out and you hit that right. 10% to beat Clemson. The Wake and BC numbers are waaaaay off. We'll be 55% to beat Wake and 70% to beat BC

I love the money line this week. I’m not sold on any ACC team that I’ve seen this year. BC had Clemson on the ropes mind you.

We can win this one if we do what we’ve been doing over 60 minutes.

What’s your take on the other 3?

I would put us more at 45% to beat Wake, I think this board tends to underestimate them

I think these post are putting the cart before the horse. If wishes were ....

our best shot is FSU. Second would be ...our best shot is FSU

Exactly how I feel unfortunately but who knows, Miami's choked harder before.

Clemson was only up 7 on BC in the 4th last week. Beat Wake by only 14.

They’ll be our toughest challenge, but it’s not like they are untouchable.
I'm not sure what to make of the Wake Clemson game score. Wake was without Wolford in the Clemson game. When Wake finally scored it was when the backup QBs were in for Clemson. And I'm not sure how many other backups were getting some playing time for Clemson at that point.

"Backup quarterbacks Zerrick Cooper and Hunter Johnson took turns finishing, with Johnson going 5-for-5, including a 13-yard touchdown strike to tight end Cannon Smith that essentially put the game on ice, 28-0, with 11:48 remaining."

Updated S&P+ numbers after the weekend.

This team can beat anyone...they could also lose to everyone. The good thing is, I don't think you could say the first part prior years. Personally, I am optimistic they put it together against somebody and pull off a huge upset. I am hoping after today's loss, FSU starts to spiral. 3 losses for a program of their stature, and recent success has nothing to play for anymore. I can see them packing it in this season.

It has been a LONG time since I've felt that way, and is a testimony to how rapid the improvement under this coaching staff has happened.

I'm not suggesting we're going to win these games, but contests against FSU / Louisville don't feel like sure fire losses anymore -- not with how we've competed against the better teams we've faced.

Still can't believe we stubbed our toe with MTSU. Hope that missed opportunity doesn't cost us a bowl.

I wouldn’t put much stock into Clemson playing down to their comp. we saw what happens when they play fired up; they curb stomped virginia tech at Tech

I think our best chance is at Louisville and to catch Miami taking us for granted. Maybe the same for FSU going through the motions but we’ve never beaten them.

Yeah. I’d meet you in the middle and bring wake down to 50% because of being home.

They are good, have a really good qb, but the game is at the dome, I would say 55 pct chance.

When your best chance for a bowl may be winning in Tallahassee.. well, that is scary. But stranger things have happened.
Yup! And FSU will likely be fighting for a bowl too, they will need a win. Like our chances against Louisville more than FSU. You just have to find a way to contain Jackson thats really all they have. Everything else is MEH

Yes they have DJ. Yes they have.

Miami will be a real test, but they're getting handled by GT

FSU will never be a layup, but they just beat Duke ... 17-10. We can win.

Louisville just lost to BC

Wake is freaking Wake - they got lucky last year and played us in a hurricane

And BC is ... BC

Last night won't be the norm for this year, but man, I'm looking at those games, and I'm not seeing any where we won't have a real shot to win. I'm sure we'll have a what the ef game or two in the mix, which is fine at this point in our rebuild (or whatever you want to call it), but we could realistically be an 8 win team (including a bowl win), which would have seemed insane 2 months ago.

we have played tough games against every team we could have. thats not a team that can take anything lightly.. we can beat them all, but we need complete games and we only have shown 1 of those all year. lets get a couple guys back on D first and come out of the bye a bit healthier.

30% chance against Miami, 40% chance against FSU, I think Lville will be a toss up by time we get to them. Petrino is a great OC but a horrible leader.

This players have to stay focused and there is a very nice carrot hanging out there for them if they continue to work and stay focused. The leaders on this team, staff and players have to enjoy the Tiger game but get back to work and focus on Miami and we've seen many a time young players being in a funk after a big game like last Friday. This is playoff time and each game is huge.
