If you could add...

Someone who can grab rebounds and hit from 18 ft and in.

Ennis because he is able to defer to his teammates and he is so unselfish. He made big plays at big moments.

That was true in general, but then came the loss to Dayton in the NCAA’s where he was clearly auditioning for the NBA. He took 21 shots compared to to 19 TOTAL for Grant, Rak, Cooney, And Gbinije. He also took 5 shots from behind the arc, missing all of them.

MCW wouldn’t have the stamina. Dion wouldn’t give 100% in practice. Rak wouldn’t be ready. Girard would get all the minutes and those three guys would transfer out by Christmas. Duh.

Flynn. He'd create his own shot and get our shooters open. Other teams would have to pick their poison. Sag into the lane to prevent him blowing by his defender and leave shooters wide open or stay put on the shooters and watch Flynn abuse the guy guarding him.

If a guard, I would choose Flynn or Waiters, never Ennis. To me Ennis started SU down the "walk the ball up the court" offense path. Flynn and Waiters were high octane, push the ball. I wish Jonny bought into the zone a little more with his quickness. Front court, would be Grant or Lydon. Both could play either forward spot, and played good D. Lydon even played C in a pinch.

One former Syracuse player from any team from 2005 on to join next years team, who would you pick? Had this discussion with a friend of mine earlier today, was curious to see what names come up in here.. Personally i chose MCW, i think him being a pure point with slashing and passing ability to hit our shooters with monster length at the top of the 2-3 is exactly what next years team is missing.
The Dirty Southerland model who torched Arkansas

Ennis. I need a guy that can operate in half court with the team we have, that can score and can get guys open shots. Also need the size up top.

Would be happy with MCW. His defense would be clutch up top.

Ennis or Flynn. I'm way more bullish on next year's team if there's a PG that can break down defenses and dish to Buddy/Swider.

Ugh... too bad, we had that guy on last year's team.

But I agree 100% that this need might be the team's main limitation [along with overall athleticism], and possibly the thing that caps our ceiling / inhibits the team's potential next year.

I would go with PG in a heartbeat also and those are also my two choices.
