Yes, the IGGY COMMITTEE knows that we have one more OOC game scheduled vs Niagara, but due to the timing of the IGGY COMMITTTEE holiday party thought it would be more appropriate to post some preliminary results now. Especially with the special Eggnog already cracked open. IYKYK.
So, right now we have a record of 8-2 with one game to go. We actually had one prediction of 8-2, so if the game is cancelled for whatever reason and not rescheduled, then we can award an IGGY to SUGIANT. However, that probably won't happen. If we beat Niagara and finish 9-2, then we will go to the tiebreaker with seven predictors: FunkDoc, tee1222 (HBD!!!), pfister1, cuseball, FireballPhil, Oakland and Kirbivore. Niastri also predicted 9-2 but changed his mind before the deadline. If we finish 8-3 then all hell will break loose. But, we probably need to go back to Calvin Murphy's 68 points vs Cuse game to see such a loss. Remembering Murphy's 68-point game, 50 years later
LEADING SCORER: Currently Judah Mintz 19.9. About 95% of the picks went to Judah, but except for a couple in 19's a couple in the 20's, most never thought Judah would be this good. It will be interesting to see how his number is after battling "tougher" opponents throughout the rest of the season. The bigger question will be, will the ACC refs allow Judah to go to the line 9 or 10 times per game.
LEADING REBOUNDER: Justin Taylor. 6.0. No predictions. Quadir Copeland 5.6. No predictions. Maliq Brown 5.0. Yup, a ton of predictions. Naheem McLeod 4.7. Yup, a ton of predictions. Benny Williams 2.6. A few predictions. No love for JT or QC for rebounding king.
MOST THREES: Chris Bell. CB received a ton of predictions. Right now, Chris has made 29 through 11 games, which equates to 81 through 31 games, although the IGGY COMMITTEE doesn't close this out until the very end of the season. Will be an interesting one to watch through the season.
2ND MOST MINUTES ON THE TEAM: Judah Mintz 31.1. A lot of love for JJ in this category. He currently leads with 34.3, Will he continue to be the ironman or will Judah surpass him. I think Red has done a pretty good job managing Judah's minutes so far this year. We had five people choose Judah in this category, which is very important to break ties: pfister1, HogtownCuse, Biaxtar, Guy Fawkes and Cuseattle.
Lots of games to play. Lots of time for guys to step up and take over categories. But, one big thing based on all of the 72 predictions, is that very few expected Cuse to be 9-2 in the OOC games. So, let's beat Niagara and give Red and the boys the Xmas weekend off and get down to some serious ACC business. And those of you that graded Red a B- or below in that other thread, after that whooping of Oregon, stop being Scrooge and let's give him a solid A- as his Xmas gift.
The IGGY COMMITTEE thanks everyone who participated this year and every year and wishes everyone a safe and happy holiday season.
