A strong case can be made that Mellen is the nation’s best and most impactful freshman as he’s shown an athleticism and aggressiveness uncommon among modern defenders (especially freshman), causing nearly two turnovers per game. Pairs nicely with Brandon Mullins, who handles the bigger more physical matchups, while Mellen takes opponents’ smaller, quicker attackman.
