Illegal Formation Flag

I was hoping there would be a thread on this -- I was so incensed by the whole sequence, namely the lateness of learning about the flag. On TV, they had already showed a couple replays of the TD and they said the PAT team was already setting up on the field. Additionally, on the broadcast, the usual "FLAG" graphic in the bottom right corner was not on the screen (until much later when we finally learned of this flag). And then as another poster pointed out, the rules analyst thought it was a terrible call (and showed a picture to back up his point). So at the time I thought it was total screwjob (thus the outrage). And truth be told, when it was 21-0, I thought the game was over (and kept thinking of how the game would have been different if they hadn't taken a TD away from us).

The call was so late that Mr. Excitement had already announced the McCord and set/tied 2 all-time SU QB records!

We were full on coping hashing it out. 'Get a TD, a stop, a TD to close the half. We get the ball back and start the half 21-14, that's manageble'.

Not sure if we believed ourselves or not but it actually happened!!

Garbage call. Usual ACC ref incompetence.

But the refs didn’t put their thumb on the scale in a purposeful way. Miami got hit with a couple questionable calls, and ones that could’ve been ignored if the fix was in (see: holding on that Martinez 50 yard run in the 3rd).
Knee was down way before first down line replays showed it was obviously not a first down. And refs ignored it. These refs were rigged

It was after. We were getting ready to kick before anyone noticed it in our side

I noticed the flag before Pena scored. Idk if it was thrown at the snap, but it was def there, because I didn’t celebrate the TD at all, assuming the flag was on us.

Watching the replay, it did look like we had 5 guys in the backfield and the Miami coaches were in the refs ear. Hard to see clearly but it looked like he tried to grab his flag after the snap but mishandled it but it was out right around the time Pena caught the pass. As he was running to the endzone I noticed it on the field.

Not only was the ball short of the line to make, they spotted it a full yard over the line to make, even after the replay.

Same here. Saw the flag. Sideline ref was just waiting there to be recognized by the crew. I knew it was coming back before the train whistle.
