Much easier reading about Gottlieb snarky remarks vs the clusterfluck on the football side. Be back soon cuz I'm a glutten for punishment.

****************WARNING: PERSONAL RANT ALERT***************

I gotta say that I've become completely and totally disheartened with this football team. Maybe I'm just being overly cynical, but any positive momentum that HCDM created through years 1 thru 3 has completely evaporated.

It started with last season's collapse...which was followed up by the phenomenally mediocre coaching additions....followed with the lack of a signing day event...followed up by the lack of a proper "junior day" recruiting event...followed up with this most recent scheduling cluster.

I'M SICK AND TIRED OF LOSING! WE'VE BEEN A LOSING TEAM FOR OVER A ING DECADE AND THERE ARE NO SIGNS OF IT CHANGING. GODDAMMIT I'M TIRED OF THIS LOSING stuff!

Now I look at next year's schedule and have already completely written off the entire 2012/13 season before spring practice.

I'm tired of waiting for "next year" and I'm tired of holding out hope. With some minor exceptions, SU football hasn't been fun in years.

when there, ask the kids how SU's 10 NBA ready players are getting prepared for the biggest month of their lives.

The only mistake Gross made was not getting a home/home out of the 12th game. Unless we got 1 million dollars or something high to help with the Big East exit fee this game with Missouri makes no sense. I like that we are playing a legit team, but hate we are wh*reing ourselves out for a check.

I hear you but this does not come as a shock, at least to me it doesnt. What happened when Captain Kangaroo was hired I said would take the program 6-8 years to recover from to where we were having successful winning seasons on an annual basis. 6-8 years. Its been 3 going on 4. What that moron (and I include the good dr in on this as well because he was the one who made the hire) did to our program was a complete joke.

I hear you as far as the collapse, coaching additions, scheduling, etc but it should have never gotten to this point. Unless you brought in a Nick Saban, Urban Meyer, etc noone was going to turn this program around in 2-3 years. The Pinstripe Bowl season was great but a complete fluky over achievement. Give the players credit for playing their asses off but that was not supposed to happen so soon.

we have become everyone's home coming game under gross-i guess it offsets the loss of home game revenue

first it was groober had to have 5-6 years because pp left the program in such bad shape-now its give marrone a free pass because the great guru left it in such bad shape-

when will you give marrone the due credit for the lack of offense for 3 seasons?

or his inability to notice that special teams is a actual part of the game?

the inability to improve personnel over what the great guru left?

so if he flames out again this year and we start the acc with a new guy how many decades does he get the benefit of the doubt for?

It doesn't take 6-8 years to recover any program. We had bad records but we still had a program with decent talent. UConn went from 1AA to success quicker than that. WE got to a bowl game in year 2. We should have gone to a bowl game last year too. GRob wasn't up in the box calling for a FG on 4th and inches for a TD vs. rutgers. He also didn't make any of the decisions that led to a 5 game losing streak to end the season. If he is the reason we lost to rutgers, then he is the reason we beat WVU. Also the 3 years prior weren't successful winning years. We were 16-20. If we are on a 6-8 year plan, then we hired the wrong coach this time too.

You are missing the point. I am not giving anyone a free pass here.

If DM left today he would leave the program in 100x better shape than when he took it over. Do you not remember how bad it was? We became worse than Duke football. We were kept in the BE after Temple was kicked out for having better success than we had those 4 years. We became a punch line. Our proud program became a laughing stock. We were the game on everyones schedule that people automatically wrote in permanent marker the letter W. Why would kids want to come here? Recruiting relationships and ties were damaged and those needed ot be repaired. Was he supposed to come in and all of a sudden we win 10 games ?

Now I agree with a lot of people that the way he runs certain parts of his program, his philosophies, etc need to be changed. That was painfully obvious after last season. People wanted a change. They got a change and it backfired. Now they want it back to the old way without having to pay for the mistake we made. doesnt work that way.

Talent wins games. Plain and simple. Until we get the talent here it isnt going to change. Nick Saban does not win 10 games coaching Indiana with the talent they had last season. Recruiting needs to get better and it appears its headed in the right direction.

When I said 6-8 yerars I meant to where we were used to seeing our program. 7-8-9 wins a season. Possibly playing in a BCS bowl.

Again I never said DM was the right guy.

the great guru couldnt out coach me-he could have had the same players as the nc team and still made su look foolish
