i started and quit in 10 minutes cause it was doing a way different direction than I anticipatedAnyone watching Alien: Earth?

Where did you think it was going?Z

I was planning to check it out but after listening to Chris and Andy on The Watch pod, it didn't sound like something I'd be too interested in. About to start Families Like Ours on Netflix, premise sounds extremely interesting.Anyone watching Alien: Earth?

The entire world being run by corporate factions things . It’s as they say FACILE.Where did you think it was going?
I’m only into episode 2. I’ve always loved the Alien theme, but there is some silliness in this series. Not the fun kind of Bill Paxton Aliens silliness—just odd, non-serious story choices. But, we’ll see if that stops me soon or if I just process that this is a series, and it was made by the Legion guy….
I thought i had mentioned this show. I watched a couple(?) episodes but stopped—didn't find enough appeal in the new actors' maybe. But, i didn't realize Uma and Peter were in it. I may have to restart.I am surprised nobody has posted about Dexter : Resurrection. Maybe it's considered a guilty pleasure or something. Wild stuff. Uma Thurman is in it, and Peter Dinklage. His character consumes even more wine than his character in Game of Thrones did, for some reason. Some old associates of Dexter appear.
I agree. There is potential for storytelling there, but it is not funny. The Italian lady’s character, in particular, is really not funny. She was fine in The White Lotus though.Has anyone seen The Paper?
New show from some of the people behind The Office?
I love the Office—still watch it almost every day.
The Paper is just unfunny. I can fully understand how the creators 'got a meeting' and a pilot. I can't understand how the pilot or subsequent scripts were greenlit.
Just posted before seeing this. Did you finish it?Has anyone seen The Paper?

I gave it my best effort and got through three episodes.Just posted before seeing this. Did you finish it?
The Paper—I got through four. It bothers me enough that I don’t think I’ll go through any more.Just posted before seeing this. Did you finish it?
I'm into Task. I'm also a sucker for basically every HBO Sunday night prestige show of the past 20 years. The Paper—I got through four. It bothers me enough that I don’t think I’ll go through any more.
Anyone watching TASK (HBO Max)? From the same people as the excellent Mare of Easttown. Same region and accents, taking me back to my childhood…. It’s similarly dark in an intimate way. Pretty good so far, after the two available episodes. But, the basic storyline is oddly coincidental with Dope Thief. The producers must have had conniptions.
I’m surprised—I don’t think anyone has mentioned Peacemaker since I posted about season one.
This is on my list for sure along with The Lowdown.Black Rabbit (Netflix).
Jude Law and Jason Bateman. Jude Law runs a hot NYC restaurant/lounge. Gritty crime drama series. Bateman directed the first episode. Pretty good so far (after episode 1).
I've watched the first two episodes and really enjoyed it. Hawke is having a lot of fun in his role and the scenery and characters are gritty, dusty and relatable in a small town sort of way where everyone in the town is no more than a couple degrees removed from each other. I'm digging Keith David and Killer Mike in their supporting roles. There are some Fargo vibes for sure. This is on my list for sure along with The Lowdown.
I have two episodes left. I'm not a fan of Jude Law, but this is entertaining enough to watch. A lot of dysfunctional characters make it interesting. Laura Linney directed some of the ongoing episodes.Black Rabbit (Netflix).
Jude Law and Jason Bateman. Jude Law runs a hot NYC restaurant/lounge. Gritty crime drama series. Bateman directed the first episode. Pretty good so far (after episode 1).
So you grew up in Delco? The Paper—I got through four. It bothers me enough that I don’t think I’ll go through any more.

Delaware. 15 minutes from the Penn border/45 minutes from Philly. Accents were kinda random. My sister has the long “o” thing somehow. So you grew up in Delco?
I just finished watching the series and absolutely loved it. Shows like this are perfect for my taste. I love crime/drama and really like Jude Law and Bateman.Black Rabbit (Netflix).

reminded me quite a bit of ozark.I just finished watching the series and absolutely loved it. Shows like this are perfect for my taste. I love crime/drama and really like Jude Law and Bateman.
Last week I began watching Ozark (again). I gave it a try when it first came out, I liked it, but got distracted by other things and stopped watching after the 2nd or 3rd episode for no reason beyond that. I decided to give it another try and am hooked. I'm into season 2 and am really digging it - most of you probably have already watched it since it came out a while ago.
