They said he takes 41 steps to go 1000 meters and everyone else takes at least 44.

I'm an nonathletic 62 year old man who used to be 5-9 but is probably a bit less now. I'm in my living room so I didn't do any running but I stretched myself forward as best I could without doing an ill-advised split and figure I could probably cover 5 yards in four running steps. 100 meters is 109.361 yards so Bolt can nearly reach 11 yards in four steps. Put another way, he covers 2.67 yards per step or almost exactly 8 feet.

Usain is just amazing. I just wish he would go all out to the finish line just to see where he could put some of the records, but it's just unreal that he could win so easily that he doesn't have to.
