I'm not even that mad

While I agree with the meat of OiTG's post, my response to the title of this thread is;

I'm pissed and disappointed. Game we should win and for that, and how we played, I'm still not calmed down. (Maybe the USMNT result didn't help me either)

Still can't believe that strike..

I was there. Just got back home from the Rose Bowl.
That game was intense. Had a bad feeling on that last free kick. What a volley.

It's just frustrating that it seems every time we've "turned the corner" we go out and lay an egg.

I still say the only two guaranteed losses left on the schedule are FSU and Clemson. Everything else is up for grabs. The ACC is such a mess, almost anyone can come away with a win against almost anyone else.

Totally agree. I think we land somewhere between 5-7 regular season wins and if we qualify for a bowl, that means a 7 or 8 win season potentially.

Absolutely. It costs the program fans.

That's the biggest thing. For me, yesterday was deflating because of the defense, but given this team's youth, mama said there'd be days like this. So I'm not overly upset.

For those who are deciding not to attend the Dome when they either easily could, or used to do it all the time, that's the group you just keep home and maybe add to it with a game like yesterday.

I mean the upside is, and it's a crappy upside, that at least it didn't happen in front of the home crowd. Assuming they beat Virginia hopefully that raises some interest in Pitt.

IMHO, we were one dumb, freshman penalty on a 3rd down incompletion away from marching down field and tying the game at 31...with plenty of time left to pull it out. All this after playing one of our worst halves of football in recent memory. We don't pick up that dumb ass unsportsmanlike conduct penalty, and we could be discussing a win today.

As much as I was disappointed that we lost, we have to understand the youth quotient and that mistakes will happen. Give USF credit for shutting down our running game. And Lester should have opened up the passing attack earlier. USF outplayed us at the line, and once again we missed a couple key tackles that turned into momentum changing plays.

But what I take away most from that game: we have a bonafide gem at QB for the first time in years. Dungey put balls in places where plays could be made. His touch is magnificent. The future is bright. Get the lines playing consistent, and we will win plenty of games.

USF stunk up the joint vs. Maryland. We stunk up the joint vs. USF. Maybe some other teams who should beat us will stink up the joint against us.

If that happens, we need to jump on it. Boot on the throat and control the game.
